As others have said, considering that you're in div IV, it'd be hard to keep training him to be U21 and NT player, as the player salary will become very high and you'll eventually have to sell him.

Simply not true in Australia.

III is fine for U21 player.. IV is bots..

Well he is in div IV now...

Keep him.... you won't ever draft someone like that again. His salary can not become very high in his first few seasons of training. It will take at least 3 seasons of single pos. training to get his salary to 30k ( if you train gaurd skills with a level 6 trainer), and in that time you can save up for other players to put around him, and with 1 35k player, and 2 20k players, it is EASY to promote in Div IV.

You can get those 20k players without spending much by buying 2 trainees to train alongside him.

IV is mainly bots. He'll promote next season. These young guys are the foundation to any team.

If you can get upward of 1.5 mio there is no doubt in my mind that I would sell him for the greater good of the team.

It's a long term game, not a sprint. Australian division IV is a walk in the park, III is competitive but there's room to build a team there.

I have no doubt in my mind if he took a long term approach his team will be better off, not right now, but in terms of sustainability, definitely.

3 seasons ago I sold almost my entire roster even though I was first in II, and replaced them with 19 and 20 year olds. Now my team is far stronger than before.

Also, a player that you drafted gives you A LOT of merchandising if he is playing in the National Teams, so it's definetely worth it.

Yes But with enough money
he would have no problem buying:
3 excellent 18 years old from his country that he could train
and have plenty left over for other things

You could be wrong because the market hasn't been very good lately, and that player could have some flaws like, atrocious OD or Passing, and lower his value a lot. Let's say he gets 2.5M por such player, there is no way he could buy 3 excellent 18 yeras old from his country and still have money for other things.

Hopefully he really is that great because in this thread, all of us have been pretty much assuming that he is a beast :P. It'd be pretty sad if his skills were unbalanced with some atrocious here and there.
