I think FT training is a very useful training when you have messed up your training minutes or when you have weeks with only two matches.
I rarely have to decide between JS and FT training. It´s more of FT vs. Stamina training. As it doesn´t make a lot of sense to boost your stamina too much, FT training seems to be the most efficient training in those weeks.

And as you said, in close games your FT percentage can make the difference.

In my last league game I had 18 successful FT attempts out of 33.
This means I missed 15 points, which could have cost me the game.
Maybe I could use some FT training after all. :p

I think you hit the nail on the head with this one brother. Better free throws can alter the end of game scenario. Instead of being down by four you might be down 1 or 2 and that completely changes how your team will need to attack. On the flip side, the ability to ice a game from the line is luxury.

There was an argument long ago about whether jump shot should have FT shooting as a secondary training skill (then you wouldn't have the guy with the awesome jumper, but can't him a FT), but many people argued that they were totally separate skills (myself not among them).

Really? I'm with you. It's borderline ridiculous to say that they're not related skills. They're both shooting skills. Of all the skills we can choose to train in this game, I would argue that jump shot and FT shooting are the 2 most related skills on the list.

Yeah, but you're not good at FT's just cause you're good at Jump shots, just like you're not good at jump shots just cause you can hit free throws.

You still need to practice both. In real life, and in Buzzerbeater this is the case.

Absolutely. The argument wasn't that they're exactly alike, it's that they're related. And I would argue that they're the 2 most related skills of all the trainable skills.

Because of that, my other point is that it makes a lot more sense to get a secondary pop from jump shot training with free throws than it does some of the skills that do.

to be honest the time you used totally different styles a long gone(free thrwos betwen the legs)

And you are allowed to jump while shooting free throws, when you land inside the "half circle" with both foot, even when nearly nobody makes it.

I wouldn't like the change, because i don't fit so good into the system we have here. It would make FT himself not really desirable, and i think overall FT shooting percentage would become to good because you already don't need much skill. And a big change who balanced that all, for such a minor think is imho not necessary. On a realistic view, i agree with people who like to see that.
