mmm nah id say thats about right.

the guy averaged a rating of 12.5 in the Polish Div IV last season (which is probably equivilent of Aussie Div III) . Shot over 50% from the field playing at SG and shot 45% from 3pt land.

Id say he got a pretty good player. I dont think he got a bargain, but i dont think he overpaid either.

He probably has really balanced skills. - Hence the low salary. With maybe a high Jump Range and Inside Shot, combined with good driving. Lots of drives turned into inside shots. and then nails lots of outside 3's.

Even if he averages a rating of 10.0 this season, its probably about the right price. We shall see!

Just checked his stats from his first Div III game
27 points, 8 assists, 8 rebounds. playing at PG. Rating of 11.5.

He should play him at SG i reckon. stuff him at PG.

Thats what I thought!! The player was last sold for 500k... no way he would be worth more than that!! in fact I would pay about 300k tops!

Its very hard to determine his true worth without knowing his stats but doing a quick transfer market search of:

SG's aged 22-24 with a salary of $22k - 25k

Of the 16 players currently for sale, minimum starting price is $700k

Except for the one guy that has a minimum starting price of $6k

most are around the $1.0million mark. Highest is $2million.

Even dropping the salary range to $20k, of the 38 players for sale, only 7 are less than $500k, and of those, 6 are Free Agent sales (so they are salary X 10 sale price)

So given the current market climate, I would say he paid market price, Definately not a steal, but i dont think he got ripped off. He certainly could have shopped around for a couple more weeks. But maybe the extra wins early in the season keeps him in Div III? who knows.
And one thing Ive learnt about previous sale prices, is, that, the market could have been in a very different situation when that sale was made. Its a nice indicator, but sometimes gives a false impression.
Maybe BuzzerBeater's credit rating had been downgraded to AA+ by S&P's credit rating system, and so the market was in freefall, so players were selling assets left right n centre?

You will have to convince me with stats and evidence. Im a theoretical kinda guy and don't like to delve into discussions involving opinions.... i like hard evidence!
You will have to convince me by buying a 22-24 year old SG with salary $20k-$25k for less than $700k :)

his potential is the big killer... he is only star pot and being 23 and still trainable this imo puts a big limit of his worth
