I suspect you are a sadist. You like to watch your 200k Center steamroll his 5k C matchup, you go squirming as he swats every shot and get every rebound. You shout "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, MOFOS!"

But seriously, you can do much better than this.

You're in D5, there's no way you can keep him for the long term. Fire him now (I don't think you can sell him off before economic update) and start getting your players in shape. Should focus on next season's draft, you got a good chance of landing a great trainee. Consolidate your team by training any young player you have. Don't bother buying any new players.

Next season you might want to get <10k salary players for every position. Rest are trainees and backups and srubs. Use extra money to invest in your arena.

As long as you learn from the experience and you don't lose your team, although it was a poor decision to have the guy in the first place, you'll be wiser now.

To be honest, in V, what you want to do is to start your training program, fill your other positions with nicely-balanced players at around 8-9k salaries, make sure to have a deep enough bench so that you're not playing your starters 80+ minutes, and then manage your enthusiasm and game shape. While doing that, keep your staff costs kind of low, spend a little on scouting and focus on upgrading your arena, and then just let your team grow with your trainees, replacing the other guys as you promote.

To win division V should be VERY easy if you just get four decent players of salaries $6-10k each, three trainees, learn to manage your game shape, enthusiasm and tactics. If you do this you will be almost certain to promote next season.

hey bbs! thats exactly what i predicted a bunch of seasons ago.. 200k players will get so cheap that everybody can afford buying one but not paying their salary
