@Wolph: Every time you are about to enter a post, you should stop and make yourself edit out the less important half of what you wrote. The total words of yours that people read would probably increase.

@Furious: The difference between your incoming and outgoing cost doesn't mean anything. But the fact that you have only sold 500k worth of players in the ~16 months you've been playing means you are a noob when it comes to the market.

The more expensive 18 year old you bought is impossible to tell anything about, but it's very unlikely the cheaper one is the deal you are making him out to be. He was bought for 4k on draft day and has only gotten minutes in 3 weeks, which means if he was a good deal now he woulda had to have been an epic deal on draft day. I guarantee you there will be a ton better deals on 19 yo (what you call 18yo) right after the draft then there are right now.

Doubt it was a steal. Doubt he's as bad as you think he is. Just a hole made in the market because he's missed too many pops to make it as a D.I thru D.III starter, and he gets eliminate by any new gm who makes the terrible terrible decision to search based on best position.

I doubt that i can spin him for huge profits by the beginning of age 19. Probably need to wait till the market on 18 year olds settle down. I seriously doubt i could've gotten him for 90k at the begining of this season before he missed his pops. probably even in a flooded market was going to be a massive pain to get for less than 250k.

He was sold for 4k...

Edit to add:

This "hole" is there all the time though. There are certain players who are just below this hypothetical cutoff at every time of the year, and there are far far more of them on draft day. You are the first person I've ever heard try to argue that right after draft day isn't the best time to buy 18/19 yo.

yea, i combined two different thought processes.

he started at what i'd guess is a 3/4 or 4/4. if he was a standard PG or SG, i doubt i could've gotten him for under 250k, much less 90k. and then i was thinking more about my player, and managed to walk into a stupid statement.

I'm sad i didn't get the 4k valuation though

edit2: nevermind, not going to bother responding to the troll attempt.

It boggles my mind how you could take my post as a troll attempt. What part of it was trolling?

I looked at the players you're making $$$ from the TL and a lot of them are in the 100k+ salary range.
Managers in our position (not in a country's div.I) simply can't afford to purchase these players to flip them for more money.

Could I do this with the 20k-60k players I am accustom to searching for? Quite possibly, but probably on a lower scale.

It is a luxury you have in your small country too, no? Your roster isn't too much more expensive than mine right now and you are div.I and I am div.III. You get to use your big TV contact and merchandise to play with the market.

I have to use my time to add and get lower salary according to if I'm still in the cup or not, when I face top seeds from other conference, and of course when playoffs approach. (And then as you pointed out, I still have to troll.)

Maybe in the future I will be bidding on these TL bargains of yours, but not yet. Next division I also have to build up arena a little more as well.

(I also wasn't the one pointing out your spelling tendencies. However, the 7s are all I notice when there are more than normal.)

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Honestly I didn't bother reading your entire post.

I'm not saying you are a crummy manager or anything...I'm saying you shouldn't be giving advice about the market wtihout much practical experience with it.

@everyone I'm not trying to offend folks, and well I seem to have...not my goal, my bad and all that. Take the advice of the guy with 500k in sales or the guy with over 60million in sales. The choice is yours.

I know respect over the internet means nothing, but at least try.

Maybe you'll get more people to listen to you rather than going the elitest route on the last quote.

@valhalla: find someone else to bother. please. we got told to play nice the last time this got started, so please.. just stop. I only comment in every 15 or 16 topics, you can respond to someone else.
