Kings Dominate World Alliance!
In Utopia 19664 showed up for the inevitable beatdown that the Kings would deliver to World Alliance. They were pleased, as the Kings were able to cruise to a 122-88 victory(52678964). Waldemar Hielscher-Uhl(8051928) led the way with 35 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists as the Kings perfect season continued.

Kings Dominate All-Star voting!
4 players named to the starting lineup and one in the three point competition demonstrates how well the Kings have been doing. Gerry Stavridis(14641174) enters his third straight, Maura Da Ros(14750087) enters his 2nd in 3 seasons, Waldemar Hielscher-Uhl(8051928) enters his 10th All-Star game and Essa Abu-Kaleel(7971517) makes 7th all star appearance and 3rd in a row. Kaleel was even chosen for the 3-point competition as the Kings domination spreads further!

Spaniard Added to Help in B3 Run!
Ignasi Fontarnau(7562676) was picked up by the Philosopher Kings for a sum of $465,000 demonstrating that RiP is serious in his B3 ambitions. The Spaniard has been averaging 21 points and 10 rebounds in Spains first division and hopes to continue his stellar play in Canada. Fontarnau is among the top 1000 players in the world and helps solidify the depth for RiPs team as Uhl and Miranda now have a viable backup.

Division II Team of the Week!

蝴蝶Supreme get Beaned by the Odyssey
With Kumiko being the only featured team still alive in the cup, they faced off against #2 ranked Beanz Odyssey. The result was not good. Not good at all. After falling behind 51-31 in only 2 quarters, Kumiko thought nothing could get worse. Oh, but it did. The third quarter was a statement quarter by GM-beanerz and his Odyssey as they marched on to win the third quarter by a score of 26-0, extending their lead 77-31. A scoreless quarter for 蝴蝶Supreme marked the end of Kumikos patience and she was seen storming out of the building with a whole quarter of play remaining! This seemed to spark her team as they won the fourth quarter convincingly 27-9, but still dropped the game 86-58(55483385).

Kumiko Buys Five Scrubs, Replacement Time?
With the quick purchases of 5 bench worthy players fans of 蝴蝶Supreme worry that Kumiko is out of her mind. Analysts urge fans to relax, however, as they all agree when they say, "Its just for a scrimmage." Thursday night will be the night everyone finds out, whether that is true.

Kings Run Over Pistoleroi
Another clinic was held in Utopia. This time the topic was, on how to crush a team by 59 points. This game was merciless, with the Kings putting up some outrageous scoring numbers and some physical play! With Miranda picking up 5 fouls and Da Ros fouling out, the Kings were playing not only for a W, but for blood. The win was an impressive one with everybody on the Kings contributing and showing up to perform well. The Kings now sit in second place in the B3 and will be against the #1 ranked Swedish team next week! Oh yeah the score... 134-75(55371980) for RiPs squad!

Division III Team of the Week!

This week I have chosen Morwood, who is the manager of Rouge et Or(33500). He is in his 4th season of division III.

Mod-Bballin: Your team sits in third right now. Its your 4th season in division III, whats your goal for this season?
Morwood: Well at the start of the season, my goal was to get rid of old guys, and focus on training up young players. As luck would have it, I have still managed to accomplish that plan, but a couple of the youngsters I picked up are further along than I would have ever guessed. So now, instead of trying to just avoid relegation, I am looking like a darkhorse in our playoff race. This was never my intention, but why not kill two birds with one stone. I still don’t think I’ll win, with Sierra Madre, Squalors or Raptors 9 probably taking that honour.

MB: You recently took over as Englands U21 manager and have had done a great job I must add. Why did you choose England?
MW: Well, it was England that gave me my first opportunity to forage into the International universe. I started out as reporter for His Emminence and the England u21 team. I became interested instantly, learning a lot of different tactics and points of view on training up youngsters and such. I definitely have since become a lot more interested in the development of youth than the older players. Loyalty is big to me, so I wanted to repay the favour by running for England…and I could tell Canada was already going to be in good hands with Kumiko(or Headless had he won).

MB: How has your first term as Englands U21 manager been? Everything you expected, nothing you expected? Easier, harder?
MW: I have learned tons!! I have also worked very hard to scout future players, as the one thing I encountered when I took the job, was a lack of top end talent, and especially lacking a rebounding beast to keep up with the other European teams. One of the challenges with having less depth, is that if some u21 managers aren’t on board with keeping game shapes up. It’s also so tempting to want to suggest certain training programs to owners that will help the u21 team in the future, but I realize that it’s sometimes hard to tow the line between getting what we need and not coming off as ordering the manager as to what to do. At the end of the day, I love this job, as I’m always of the mind set that I can learn something every day… from losses/wins, other managers, etc.

MB: Who is your favourite Canadian BB player? Your favourite current Rouge et Or player? Your favourite Ever Rouge et Or player?
MW: Well when I started out as U21 Canada reporter, I was very interested in Curtis Worley. But since then I’ve become fond of Momar Maja….maybe I just like chanting his name after a big rebound or block. My favourite Rouge et Or player would have to be my young Canadian trainee Gigi Di Silvestro. He has a long ways to go in his training, but I love it when he goes off for 30 or gets 4 blocks, or just the fact that his name suggests that he could be a chipper on the side.

MB: Whats your favourite part about BB?
MW: I love the training part, and talking strategy with people on game days. I especially love my talks with fellow Division 3.8 buddy Lamo (Raptors 9). I also love the strategy part. Some people in Buzzerbeater always act as if they know everything, but I’m of the mind that there is always something else to learn to get a leg up , and that’s what interests me… it’s like a good game of poker…some days you get the gut-shot straight, other days someone beats you unexpectedly on Ace high.

Division II Team of the Week!

This week I chose GodBeard, manager of The Aristocrats(33776)! He is in his second ever season of division II.

Mod-Bballin: Your team sits in first right now. Its your 1st season in division II, whats your goal for this season?
GodBeard: My goal coming into the season was to finish 5th or better. My first stint in division II was a 1-21 nightmare (Season 16 I believe). So far this season is far exceeding my expectations, but I'm not satisfied now. Promotion is what everyone craves, and I feel as though this season may be my best shot. I wouldn't consider myself the favourite in our League by any stretch, but the timing may be right for me (I know other players have cards up their sleeves that could change everything though).

MB: What do you think has been a key reason for your quick success in division II?
GB: The key reason I'd say is focusing on defense above anything else. I have a couple scorers, but I'd say defense and my PG trainees Papayiannis and Farley (who has since been sold).

MB: Who is your favourite Canadian BB player? Your favourite current Aristocrats player? Your favourite Ever The Aristocrats player?
GB: Favourite Canadian BB player? Well, it'd probaby have to be Curtis Worley on Fundamentally Sound. It's more out of respect than anything else as he dominated me in last seasons division III finals. Favourite current Aristocrat player is Pelagios Papayiannis as I picked him up as a 19 year old and have been watching him grow ever since. Favourite Aristocrat of all-time...wow, blast from the past there! I think I'd go with Ajaikumar Sharma [player=14642168. ]He was my first ever draft pick and I sold him when I semi-ragequit. I wish I had more patience because I feel as though he could've been a Canadian NT'er, and now he's retired as a 66k salary 27 year old (he could've been better than that) :(.

MB: Whats your favourite part about BB?
GB: Favourite part would be that it takes time. I'm not a big fan of the quick success sport simulators. The fact you have to wait to be great makes it rewarding when you start to have success.

MB: What tips would you share?
GB: Tips...well, for new players I'd say the key is to get at least two high potential 18/19 year olds (easier said than done), train defense first, and avoid acquiring high salary players when you're in lower divisions. Instead, build your arena and acquire those high salary players when those 18/19 year olds turn 21/22.

MB: Any managers you would like to shine a spotlight on. Any who helped you or that you fancy?
GB: I'd like to shine light on Stajan. I'd say he'd be the manager I look up to as we started around the same time and I watched his team achieve success much quicker than I.

MB: Where have you been in the world?
GB: I've been to Mexico, Hawaii, and other random places of the U.S., but aside from that I've planted myself in Canada firmly.
