It's my belief that match ratings should really be taken with a grain of salt and things like match up ratings and the actual box score are better ways to determine who played well. What I saw was your point guard having some difficulties against my #1 defender. Sure, that allowed Rondon to score 41 against my #2 defender, but hey it's Patient offence: somebodies going to go off no matter how I defend against it.

You are by far the best team in the Great 8, nobodies going to argue that fact, and no amount of salary efficiency and tactics were going to help me win an away game against your team. I consider the fact that I 'only' lost by 14 to be a good result for my team all things considered.

Also... I wouldn't be so sure about everyone having improved through training by the finals. Look at your team for example; I only see one player there that I'd call 'training material' (Hannabuss).

Look at the rest of the teams. My point was they will all improve. If you are just aiming to beat me then maybe you have a point.

We just have different tactics as far as training goes. With trainees I don't worry about the draft. I pick them up after the all star week and make sure they Aussies. If you want to win and promote it is hard to train more than 2. I am training Rondon as well at the moment to tweak a few areas while looking for my next trainee.

Best of luck. I hope you improve and it is a close finals series. We don't player to thump everyone each week.

With no disrespect to the rest of the conference, the other 6 teams don't scare me which makes me try to 'aim to beat you' by default (and fail at it because your roster is still after all loaded with talent). Here's some of the problems I notice in the other 6 teams in this Great 8 conference and hence are the reasons why I think it's really just you and me unless things significantly change:

Dawesville Hoops: Game shape issues and his top 2 players on wage are turnover prone.

The London Olympics: Just sold up half of his team, unless he replaces them I don't see them challenging. Also bad game shape.

Golden State Condas: Newbie team, so not enough talent to be a threat.

FlagRaisers: 21 player roster and running a base offence makes me question his managerial decisions.

TheFlyBallers: 6 player roster can't be good for game shape management, and besides I think my starting 5 is better anyway.

Kbrid: Again newbie team so lacking in talent.

Yes, you are right in saying that all of these teams will improve through training in one way or another but from what I saw in the other teams, I'd argue that out of the Great 8 teams mine will improve the most through training by seasons end.

Will be aiming to go 5-3 in the inter-conference match-ups (top 3 teams in the Big 8 are likely out of reach for my team). I imagine you'll be wanting something closer to 7-1 or even 8-0 moose...

I agree with everything you have said. All I want out of the inter conference is to have more wins than the top team. I want to make sure if I play the final series I have HCA.

Yeah baby you've got some big time ballers in this league now so I think things are going to be heating up a lot in the old 3-1. Think you could be the team to beat so we will sure be checking you.

What happened to the active forum Shaq? Very quiet Big 8.

Right, been a bit slack. Wow that win was big time v the Jerries you showed them who is the favourite. Going to be hard to take you down this season unless something unexpected happens. For real.

Amazing work by you baby, a whole team of scrubs & you have the 2nd best record in the G8? That is the real coaching you have got there.

The trick is to have guards that can score inside and bigs that can shoot 3's. In other words, 5 small forwards :P

This keeps salaries down making the players look like scrubs at first glance, when in reality, they can ball.

Yes the SF is the most important player in this game in my opinion. Let's be honest though, there isn't much competition over here for the both of us. I doubt the others are seriously trying or they are bot / going to be bots.

As far as being favourite goes, well that counts for nothing. It was a good win over Jerries but it was on my home court. I would say I am more worried about you Shaq and TST.

Epic All-Star snub for Eric Bradbury, I had him as my lock of the week but he ended up on the wrong positional ballot because apparently it goes by minutes played not games played (192 at PG vs 185 at SF). Had he been on the SF ballot as I'd been aiming for he would've easily been the starter. Instead, Butkovic is the starting SF and overall leading vote getter despite only averaging 11.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 4.2 APG. A further consolation is Novakovic also making it as the backup SG.

Sometimes I just feel as though the ASG and MVP voting is conspiring against my boy Bradbury (got shafted last season too in the MVP voting...)

Lol looks like you were right.

YSD the ASG voters were right to vote in Lockwood (exU21 USA) & Roche (would have been Aus U21 easy but was a 19yo) so that we can see some big time players.
