Week 3 Round-up:

The Threefers
Fender Stratocasters – With no reserves of energy to pull on, Londo and crew received Jimi's 1967 Monterey Pop Festival Treatment:
Elbflorenz Supernova II – Despite Casademunt's 7-13 from downtown, an encouraging tie at half-time, and a valiant team effort, things fell apart in the second half when the Supernova bench just couldn't contain their D.III counterparts.
Thalassa Ottakring – With their opponent saving cup minutes for a few of their starters, Ottakring was outgunned and fighting in a foreign land. And so they sunk back to the seas from which they came.

The Upsets
BERLIN KNICKS – The Knickerbockers put a shine on their home court as they mopped the floor with the handful of scrubs that made the trip to Madison Square Garden
Thanatos to Team II – They lived up to their name, spelling death for their D.III foe. The execution was so emphatic in fact, that the THA starters got to sit the fourth period.
Tsalakomenoi B.C. – Haven't you always wanted to pour alcohol on a guitar and set it on fire? Yeah... I thought so.

Our three representatives in Week 4 of the Utopia National Tournament will all face challenging games:

BERLIN KNICKS (675) – They travel to the top-heavy D.III team, Colossus Atletico. A pair of tough league games will force their opponents to choose where to focus their talent, possibly providing an opening for the Knicks. If they can pull through, they will join Scoop Figliss TV Repairman (S27) and Zoreille974 (S28) as the only IV.44 teams ever to make it to round 5.

Thanatos to Team II (496) – They play host to Maiuri Dreams, a struggling D.III team with a roster comparable to their own. Whether or not THA will carry on to round 5 likeky comes down to which side puts more talent and effort into the cup.

Tsalakomenoi B.C. (795) – Signs point to the end for TSA. But will their D.II opponent's miserable game shape be enough to tip the scales in their favor? If so, let's hear it for the underdog!

Thats a shady looking duckwalk (y)

I´ll counter with Rick Wakeman, back when I was in a band, this was the highlight of almost any drunk conversation.

In my opinion I got less than no chance to beat Colossus Atletico. Their Center Mannari earns almost 80.000$, thats way more than my whole payroll is! Complement him with the other nice players he has...less than zero chance to beat him.

But I´m proud of beating sentaku II, they are actually listet 398 in national ranking, I´m at 631... maybe it would have been enough to play normal, maybe I even hadn´t to use the CT...but as I told you earlier, its the first time I got out of the first round...

This week in the Cup:
(Late is better than never, right?!)

Four-but-no-more
BERLIN KNICKS – Admittedly outmatched, our friends from Berlin comported themselves respectably as they bowed out in the fourth round. A 22-pt game from Janez Bračun wasn't enough to hide the fact that the Knicks had no answer for Mannari and Dall'Oglio in the paint. Things might have been closer if Elvin Kyffin had ever learned to shoot a free-throw. (Seriously! 0-167 lifetime!!!) But even if the Knicks had made all 17 of their missed free-throws, they'd have still gone down by 9.

IV.44 sends two representatives to round 5 this season – more than ever before!

Thanatos to Team II (413) – Thanatos looks poised to extend their undefeated streak and earn IV.44's first round 6 berth in front of a cheering home crowd. Standing in their way is another D.IV team with a history of strong cup play, but no major threats, talent-wise.

Tsalakomenoi B.C. (709) – Finding themselves in a similar place to the Knicks last week, this season's sleeper team matches up against a D.II team with two players, each of whose salary exceeds Tsalakomenoi's entire salary expenditure. Home court won't be enough to sway the odds in their favor, but it might make it a little less of a massacre.

Very nice! Great stuff as usual from simon.

I might have Free Throw shooting in the second half of the season, but I´m not sure about that yet. So his "hot"streak maybe continues a little longer...

Another +1 for you Simon!!!

It won't be an easy game for me in this round, but I'm quite confident that playing hard and fighting, at least, up to the end of the fourth quarter, I have some options to win the game.
