I think that with high OD (+10) on a C or PF, you can get a way with low ID (12/13). That way you can get some higher IS/REB/BLK and keep the salary low.
I don't know if this can be a misconception.
OD does not add ID, therefore you cannot state "3 levels of OD equals 1 ID if your guy is defending under the basket".
At least I don't understand it that way.
The defenses complicate the shot to poor shooting conditions, OD outside and ID inside of the zone.
Then, once the shot takes place, SB comes into play for a second shot barrier, sometimes resulting in a shot failed, sometimes in a block, sometimes in a foul. Or when it's in, it was just not enough.
