the HCA has played a massive outcome in the BB3.... im curious to learn if and what changes may be in the pipeline for next season... (and hope that those that qualify get a bit longer to plan ahead for the whole campaign.)

I think everyone was fancying a home draw against me. The entire tournament my form was in real bad shape because I forgot to change my first week's cup lineup. It's taken me forever to recover from that. Choosing to stay in the US Cup and competing in the toughest league in the world really taxed my ability to recover form. My form was 1-2 levels weaker than every one of my B3 opponents. I really wish I wouldn't have blown that, but my son was born a week or so earlier and I wasn't thinking straight for a while.

I'm hoping I can get back into the tourney next season, because I think I can do as well or better. It will be tough to get back in though.

Id be more scared of competing in the Italian top division than the NBBA... Id be interested to see how others feel about this... (non NBBA teams that is!)

Admittedly the JBBL isnt going to scare many top BB3 participants... but for teams like mine in countries that started in season 3 - our smaller squads have been able to compete as our average league game is not as taxing as maybe yours... I anticipate the next couple of seasons will be more difficult and I if I qualify again I will need to add at least 3-4 new 10k+ salary players in order to divide playing time whilst trying to stay on a winning streak.

I think I agree with you actually. What i meant was specifically the Big 8 of the NBBA, which has been ridiculous since King Drive Ballers joined. Look at the ratings our 7th place team puts up.

not much better than the goats (7th in great 8) ratings in a home game (against salisbury)

the game you linked, NY was home & tried harder, the ratings werent that better. keep the big 8 v great 8 debate in the NBBA forum :p

all i can say is, planning strategy by exploiting whats best defense appliedfor the offense can go only to a distance.

if your player skills ( defensively ) is far away to the skills ( offensively ) of the other the only thing your doing is not stopping them but making it hard for them.

i for one thing is a outside oriented team, so that leaves me a lot of holes to patch up especially even my back court.

now in division 1 of my league, i can feel the pressure compare to the last 2 seasons, imagine ( im not boasting ) my starters right now havent even break the 5 figure salary and im going against 15 - 25 k guys.

you can see in the game im being eaten alive on matchups!

i just rely much on overall team, meaning i got to have quality backups just to help me sustain but it doesnt promise anything.

and i realize, there are certain players probably hidden characteristics of pesonality because a certain player plays so differently than the other no matter how close their skill level are.

I don't think HCA has made too much of a difference - for instance, the Springfield Drunkers have taken down some really tough opponents on the road. It simply adds a slight random factor in favor of one team (and is revealed a week ahead of the game instead of during the game). That said, I still feel quite lucky to have secured HCA against KDJ.

Even though I am an inside-focused team, I did play an outside offense against my toughest road opponent in BB3. It's all about exploiting weaknesses.

well i suppose my definition of massive is because if you dont have HCA against a team you are fairly equal with you are very likely to go out as opposed to winning the HCA and forcing your opponent to out-tactic you perfectly in order to have a chance....

so i say massive as it being the difference between advancing or not!

yes - as I stated earlier, in my opinion, it would have made little difference in all of my home games except for one. and unfortunately for me, my team's freakish ability to secure home draws in BB3 does little good beginning in the semis, as the semis and finals are played on a neutral court.
