yes its all true what youre saying but that wasnt my point. the point was that there will be lots of expensive players in a few seasons and less teams that can afford them. so the worse players with lets say 2x 20 will be affordable for newly registered teams because nobody else wants them. i also know that its the managers duty to make sure they can afford the players they buy but iam sure newbies will buy those monsters and then become bankrupt very soon and thats not what we want do we? we want buzzerbeater to grow. those newbies will say omg what a bad game is this and never sign up again.
second thing as somebody already said is that those players may be bought for a cupgame and then be fired without having paid his salary.
all this aint news.. hattrick had the same problems so why should buzzerbeater make the same mistakes?
just let the team pay the first salary immediatly after they bought the player

I think we are going to see less and less 20x2 players as time goes by. It isnt the new teams that are training these guys, it takes time. The more experienced trainers can get better value for thier training by spreading it around more, and the players are still within salary range affordable. This isnt Hattrick, wher one-skill heavy player do well. Why continue training these type players with astronomical salaries and weaknesses in thier game if no one will buy them?

I agree that Buzzerbeater would benefit from a larger base of players but not at the expense of the complexity of the game. If a player makes poor decisions, he must correct them or face the consequences. We shouldnt just eliminate risk to accomodate new players. Perhaps championing the mentor system would be a better solution.

Hmmm,

Brian James, are you suggesting the rate will be around 20% in Season 10 is it? I am very worried about such remarks. Seriously, look at my roster.

I feel at the start of Season 10 either homegrown salaries will drop or foreign players salaries will rise right? It has to be one of the two yes? So, I will be up the proverbial creek without the homegrown paddle then. Why? Because I wanted players with specific skills, and I wanted players who fit the offense I soon plan on executing. see my long term objectives are very focused, and I feel this tax break will hurt me severely.

Perhaps what I say is fear mongering, but c'mon, look at my roster.

From the season 8 news announcement:

Also, we be making good better use of player nationalities, and domestic players will be slightly (typically 10-20%) better economically than foreign ones. The details of this system are designed to be fair to countries of different sizes.

Nothing definitive has been stated, but there's been a lot of "hint hint, nod nod" towards it being a home grown player discount.

20% seems much is all. That number is what volted my response.

So a USA guy with all USA players has his team salary drop 20%, instantly giving him tons of spending money, while my team with very specific players who fit very focused rolls remains at the current payroll giving me a disadvantage against the rest of my league?

I like the game because I like not worrying about grabbing a guy from Cyprus or Korea and being hampered by such actions. Bridging cultural gaps if you will...I can comprise a varied team with a specific purpose. Rather metaphorical if you think about it. So now this game adopts the cold reality of race in society today in regards to segregation?

Please understand I have a high basketball IQ and I know exactly what skills are needed to run certain offenses. I've been slowly building my roster for a specific purpose. Now, my knowledge counts against me because I went out and got those guys. My hard work and countless hours on the TL learning it, understanding the game more, is now some guy who simply sat on his hands reward.

If this change is definite, I would like to see it pushed back until season 12.

Finding those specific players for your squad is hard, to find them within the same nationality is a lot harder. My point: even though other managers will be able to spend some more cash, they might be having trouble facing a well equillibrated team like yours.

What do you think about having the choice to stop training whenever we want to?

Like HT, wouldn't be a good idea to have an option that could help us in our future economy?

Just train stamina or free throws. Or even Game Shape.

Well, if those uberexpensive players would be of any use it could become a major problem of one game rental approach. They would also be likely nt players/candidates and that would cripple their usefulness for national teams because of the uncertainit of their fate. Ii said one game rental but the financial update is really what would matter.

Of course if they would be real bargains their market value would rise up and it could become similar to lvl7 trainer race except, maybe not wise in long term except it would affect an important game directly. However it would give an extra option/choice of poison to timespenders of this game over less frequently logging players which bb stated they don't want. This is hopefully unprobable scenario but yes I would support that team should pay salary to every player which played/was on roster during the last week with exception of the first week of season till unwanted draftees would be gone.

Scuse me. I've done all you have and I've done it through smart drafting, training and rookie acquisition on the TL - and all my players are domestic. Why shouldn't my extra foresight be rewarded over yours?

edit: apart from the token jock, my countrymen are useless trainers of PGs! Either that, or they are smart and keep them ;-)

Was this forsight an economic strategy in anticipation of a rule change or just National Pride?

To me Plotts brings the same argument as those opposed to specific SF training.
If you plan a long term strategy based on the rules as they are, it is a bit unfair to those employing that strategy when a new rule comes in that changes the impact of that strategy.

20% seems very high, but fortunately that number seems in no way official and speculative of how the particulars of this rule change will actually turn out.

Extra foresight? So you saw this rule change coming did you?

Please enlighten me as to the day and time of this Nostradamus like realization. Were you taking a dump reading Vanity Fair? Or were you at a Red Sox game trying to avoid the weird sounds and smells coming from the bathroom when you realized you should keep your team strictly domestic because of the upcoming payroll break?

Changes will happen in the game, I am fine with that, but I still think 20% is a bit much, and personally I would have liked this to start in Season 11. That is my stance on this tpoic. Hey, I'm just one guy, one devilishly handsome, barrel-chested freedom fighter who'd like to voice his opinion over a civilized discussion and perhaps some bacon. So, you are "scused" good sir.

Yes, Heath my good man, it is just speculation, but I would hope all these red flags would prompt the BBs to keep it at 10%.

Guy,

So is this your second go at BB or did you have the "foresight" to make your name 'BAN -/Juiced' before you knew who Juice even was?
