I agree to an extent Skyhook - I guess it comes down to a degree of personal enjoyment - I like to completely delve head first into FM and control every facet of the club I'm managing, I move through days on that in about as much time as it might take you to zip through an entire transfer period (but as you said - you get enjoyment out of buying, selling, playing a game on there).

I do agree the press conferences are a pain in the arse, less media interaction in the game or a more automated process in that facet would help lol

Just want to say bains, I do understand soccer.
i get it, it's mostly strategy and "anticipation". however, watching it just isn't for me.
i dont hate it, it just bores me.

i hate rugby league, it's rubbish in my opinion.

i love bball, afl, and i like union.
i also enjoy watching golf, because i play it and appreciate how skilled they are.
tennis i dont mind, i'll watch some aussie open or wimbledon.

I used to play some championship manager game on the PC about 10 years ago, was ok.
BB is the most addictive thing i've played since World of Warcraft. (yeah yeah i know, but i quit.. i've been 12 months clean)

i'll give it another look in. i just want a youth thing so my youth team wont suck so bad

hmm turns out i missed the end of the season. i finished top so i cant complain

btw i wont my first DT final by 11 points over my bro. week off here we come!!

oh and ranga league is terrible isnt it.

i love soccer. and enjoy AFL - just watching some teams bores me. like richmond and north and port are so bad i get no enjoyment from watching them play like rubbish each week. even st.kilda and their boring footy makes it hard to watch (getting better though)

stazza - who do you support soccer wise?

Yea it definitely takes a while to get the youth system set up I found, but the youth team is really inconsequential in terms of the game, it is nothing more than a feeder system - the league counts for nothing ;)

Good work mate, your bro would be spewing hehehe. Winning this first week of finals was crucial if your team had 3 or more Geelong players in it, I have 5 so I was glad I won this week.

I've been a Man Utd supporter since I was 7 mate, my family are big on soccer amongst alot of sports so I got an early education so to speak. My father is Arsenal, my two older brothers Liverpool so you can imagine the years of arguments and near punch ons in my household growing up lol

I find it annoying that when I tell people I support MUFC that they immediately turn to the old "bandwagon" chestnut, pity for them I can roll off the names of my united heroes from the eighties as if they were current squad members. They tend to back off pretty quickly lol. I don't really have a Championship side although I've followed Wolves and Hull quite closely over the years, my mate who is an avid Newcastle man is trying to get me to join the Swansea bandwagon for a laugh this year and has already bought a group of us beanies so I'm gonna watch the Swans closely this year hehe

How about yourself mate?

well i had aspirations of making the final finishing third and all. so i slowly weened out my geelong, carlton and essendon players in preparation for the finals so i knew i could field a full squad. my only downfall last week was putting Goodes as captain for some insane reason. bro had swan as his.

How about yourself mate?

well i am a Charlton supporter. dont ask me why... started going for them when they were in the Premier league and have since fallen. but we have started 3-0 so things are looking up. my bro goes for spurs and dad utd so we have a mix bag also. although i always get stick about charltons relegation. also have a soft spot for the black cats, Sunderland because D.Bent spent a few seasons there. i miss the days of Holland, Parker, Bartlett, Bent, Bent, Rommedahl and those guys. hopefully the group we have now can lead us back to first division soccer, as the Saints appear to be doing atm and the canaries did last season.

and dont really follow a-league. just say i go for Heart cause i have mates who are victory fans but am more interested in the european soccer. love the bundesliga

Don't feel bad, I had a few mates who went Goodes as a unique last week - I was expecting something in the 130 range from his V richmond especially at the G.

Just leave the C on Swan mate, he always finishes the year with a bang and Arizona seems to have done wonders for his knee so lock and load the big "c" and bloody leave lol

Ah a Charlton man, I don't mind that - I noticed you guys were doing well and picked up a few decent signings in the transfer period - Johnnie Jackson gives you flexibility wide and a bit of firepower and Eull was a very good acquisition. Hope they can promote this year. The black cats are alright but I'm never allowed to say that around my toon mate lol I used to like them when Phillips and Quinn were running around and now Steve Bruce is virtually turning them into a Man Utd reserves team (I think there might be an undisclosed gentlemans agreement between he and Sir Alex lol).

The Saints are looking good and have one of the best youth acadamies in the land so I hope for their sake they can make the transition and hopefully hold onto a few of their starlets as opposed to being poached dry by the free spending bigger clubs.

I hate the Victory with a passion so I'm glad you said Heart hahaha ;)

too early into the english season to know how it will all turn out but our side is definitely looking better than previous. alot more creative up front and more consistent at the back. enjoying every moment of it atm.

be good to see the saints climb back up especially after the few seasons they had to start on -22 points or something like that.

gotta be happy beating the boganators on tuesday for your first win. just a matter of preparing your side for the relegation series unless skyhook and ranga want to be incredibly nice and let you finish 5th and condemn 3 teams on the other side to relegation.

good luck mate. good to hear from ya. hope you stay around these forums when you arent too busy with other manager games

I guess I missed GOLF in my list of likes, not as boring as soccer. My biggest problem with soccer is the faking crap they do, we lost to Italy in the world cup because some retard tripped himself up with no aussie players even close to the man.

Yea I was happy but I hear I pretty much won by default coz Boganators doesnt check his side - I set my team to GFI so I probably couldve just gone TIE and taken the win, I had no idea he wasnt even looking at his team!

I was talking to Skyhook about what I wanted to get out of this season - I was pretty much going to write it off and focus on training my PG & SG's all year and get relegated so I can come back the season after next bigger and better, but Skyhook pretty much convinced me to atleast try to stay up, secure a 6th or 7th spot and battle it out to atleast give myself a chance of staying up rather than resigning myself to relegation.

Cheers mate, I try to get on as much as time allows me - being an insomniac helps, as late at night is pretty much the only time I have to relax and do the things I enjoy doing like this! I get on here at work here and there but they are pretty anal about these sort of sites so I try to keep it to a minimum.

there is a simple way to check who gets on... On the standings screen, if you clock on BIG 8 or GREAT 8 at the top of the conference standings, it shows you the last time each GM was online... A handy little feature...

I think botanator will take 8th, so if u finish 6th or 7th then you at least have a fighting chance at staying up... I think you really need to get ur finances sorted tho.. if u are losing money, cut the crap out of your staff even further..
