NP at Phantoms
Nobody has really had an answer for the Phantoms this season and NP was not able to figure it out either. Both teams were firing away. NP came out with a lot of effort but the Phantoms rebounding edge and a slew of NP turnovers put this game out of reach for No Potential by the 3rd quarter. The Phantoms PG Brown drained 33 points and a huge 2nd quarter proved to be too much for NP. Phantoms 117 NP 90
Crank Dat at Dutchmen
Crank Dat has been coming on strong lately and his General Manager has been very busy jockeying players back and forth on the transfer list. One name that won't be on the transfer list any time soon is Junde the Wonde. He had 28 points this game and helped his team overcome a nice shooting performance for the Dutchmen guards. If there is an Achilles Heel to the Crank Dat team at the moment it may be free throws. They missed 15 this game alone. The bad news for the Dutchmen is that they also made 15 free throws which spelled victory tonight. Crank Dat 94 Dutchmen 90
Prov City at Crazy's
This has been a real rivalry games for the past few seasons and tonights game did not disappoint. Carmona came out hot tonight and ended the game with a game high 39 points. Cleveland had an answer for Carmona tonight but it took 5 different guards in double figures to make it happen. Barry who has been on a terror lately drained 28 to pace his squad. At the end of 4 quarters the game was tied at 100. Like a good prize fight both teams went for the knockout in the OT but it was a late bucket by Hinds that provided a final knockout punch to the Prov City faithful. This game would have ended as a TIE on paper but let's be honest this one came down to home court advantage and the Crazy's faithful will take it. Crazy's 114 Prov City 106
Challengers at VD's
The Challengers put some extra effort into their inside look tonight and it showed with Skalec draining 30 points and collecting 15 boards. The VD's boys looked to remain patient but it may have been too slow as they only made 24 total baskets as a team. Extra effort, rebounds and shooting 100% from the charity stripe spelled victory for the Challengers tonight. Challengers 79 VD's 61
Allstars at Tachenko
Both teams fired away from 3 pt land and both teams shot fairly well. Only one problem......Allstars had been anticipating Mayagoita and his inside presence and didn't come prepared to guard the shooters. Mayagoita got his 17 boards but it was putting 7 players into double digit scoring that was able to overcome Nalesso and Cruz's 54 combined points for the Allstars. The Allstars couldn't survive great scoring by the Tachenko guards in the 2nd and 4th and that did not end well. Tachenko 110 Allstars 96
Cats at Terrors
The Cats have not been shy regarding recent frustration in how their team has been playing. The Cats came out pushing early to score. The Terrors low post offense proved to be difficult for the Cats to deal with. Jansen came up big for the Terrors but it was a full team effort that brought victory for them tonight. The Bobcats are getting better but frustration is setting in with some. Terrors 106 Bobcats 92
Blasters at Champaign
Both these teams came out firing away and gave their fans a fun game to watch. Ichaso was unstoppable for the Blasters and drained 32 on Champaigns defense. Neither team shot well from a distance but a huge amount of fouls from Champaign and a huge 4th quarter finished off Champaign. Blasters 109 Champaign 85
Phakeouts at Flames
A shoutout goes to the Flames who managed to not lose by more then 50 tonight. Phakeouts 99 Flames 56
MVP Carmona 39 pts 9 assists
Big 8 18 wins
Great 8 14 wins
All things stay even with each side taking 4 games.
3 teams still left in the cup. Champaign, Blasters and Prov City..........congrats and represent III.4
