Yea I was happy but I hear I pretty much won by default coz Boganators doesnt check his side - I set my team to GFI so I probably couldve just gone TIE and taken the win, I had no idea he wasnt even looking at his team!

I was talking to Skyhook about what I wanted to get out of this season - I was pretty much going to write it off and focus on training my PG & SG's all year and get relegated so I can come back the season after next bigger and better, but Skyhook pretty much convinced me to atleast try to stay up, secure a 6th or 7th spot and battle it out to atleast give myself a chance of staying up rather than resigning myself to relegation.

Cheers mate, I try to get on as much as time allows me - being an insomniac helps, as late at night is pretty much the only time I have to relax and do the things I enjoy doing like this! I get on here at work here and there but they are pretty anal about these sort of sites so I try to keep it to a minimum.

there is a simple way to check who gets on... On the standings screen, if you clock on BIG 8 or GREAT 8 at the top of the conference standings, it shows you the last time each GM was online... A handy little feature...

I think botanator will take 8th, so if u finish 6th or 7th then you at least have a fighting chance at staying up... I think you really need to get ur finances sorted tho.. if u are losing money, cut the crap out of your staff even further..

You play me in a few days so I hope you stay a mess until then, but after that I will be happy to help you. I had a recent season of tanking and so know what to do. Rad and Skyhooks also know a thing or two about being stingy.

Well done Neeber on our match, when I made that massive 3rd quarter comeback I thought I had you (12-0 at one stage) but we fell apart in the 4th. Your 2 guards Neil and Jacek couldn't miss from 3 point land and the 9/16 they hit while my team went 2/19 was the difference in the match. I am sure my guys can go 2/19 again but I am not so sure your stars can consistently hit nearly 2/3 of their 3 pointers.

Perhaps it was "brave" (stupid) of me to have my trainee playing 48 minutes at the PG spot being abused by Neil. Neil ended up with 36 points and my guy had 0. However as I said my aim during the season this season is to train, train, train. I didn't actually think the game would be so close, I thought you were much better than me at this stage. I don't know what I thought. If we meet in the playoffs I may just have someone a little better guarding Neil and hopefully things will be a little different.

Good luck everyone in the cup tonight!

Whilst Neil is definitely quality he is not my best guard!!! But where my team also is [team=XXX] good is the quality of the guard backups, LEN and KERRY I have every faith in to hold their own against any of your bench guards!!

It was close and I was more confident of taking it this this time but I think you underestimate the power of HCA... What would have been a 15-20 point win gets reduced on the road...I as I have always said I think that this league is definately one of the 2 hardest league III's to gt out of!!

And I am also continuing training so m y guard lineup will only get better!!!!

and our Cup Dreams are over.. Possum Chasers dismantled us.. 2 positives : their trainee fouled out so wrecked his minutes, my trainee got 48m... really looking forward to training update tomorrow!

Well I was thinking I could just get by on my $25-$40k a week income (attendances should rise a little once new prices are in effect I'm hoping!) and then sell a couple of my trainees later to get a bit of a bank balance happening for arena upgrades next year. Am I way off in my thinking? I have no idea haha

You definitely convinced me to atleast try to stay up, so I'll do my best in that regard but my team is going to take some time now to develop after an entire first season wasted ie grossly incorrect training etc.

Thanks Hippo, please don't destroy me too much in our game lol... my prediction... PAIN

Hey Stazza, you are not way off at all but I would suggest you consider a couple of things.

1. Upgrade your arena incrementally. The longer you leave the money sitting in your account the less you could potentially be making, we don't make interest with this bank!
2. Don't expect too much for your trainees. Skyhooks showed earlier this season even with the full season of training and the quality of his trainee depending on your timing with the TL you may not make what you expect.

It is a good thing that Skyhook has convinced to to try and hang in this league, it is a good league and very active in the forums, not many others can boast that claim, only our rivals III.6 :)

never sell players at the end of the season is my new motto.. that is when you buy buy buy :D I also think Atoy's piss poor primaries contributed to his low sale price, which was the reason i sold him..

If i were you stazza, i would cut the shit out of my staff salaries and bank that extra coin.. drop your PR manager and Doctor down a level.. if you can wipe 20k off your staff salaries, in 10 weeks that is another 1000 bleachers for your stadium!

Strategise with your game tactics as well.. Start using TIE and CT a bit. Like with your game against Hippos, if you know you cant win, TIE, build up your enthusiasm, so when you have a game you think you can win, Crunch Time it and try to steal the win... Or, keep that enth maxed for the upcoming relegation battle. Your teams enthusiasm at the end of the season, could be the difference between being in div 3 or 4 next season :D

My motto on Enth is this:

TIE = Norm
Norm = CT
CT = HOLY BEJESUS I NEED THIS WIN!!!

And you can quote me on this

The people that he can afford to cut this season are his Doctor and PR manager like you said because he will get the attendance boost for the promotion. And i do feel sorry for you Stazza for 2 reasons, 1. You were put into one of the hardest III's in Australia (Although this can be a good thing if you win it because you will have a higher quality side if you promote to Div II) and 2. You were put into the BIG 8 which is considered considerably harder that the GREAT 8.

But hope is not all lost however, even if you lose the relegation battle ALOT of teams go bot and open up slots for other teams to fill i.e. the active DIV III teams so you could still be here at the end even if you dont do to well...

Maybe Dire can move him to the GREAT 8
