I am fairly sure you will get a hefty boost to attendance and merchandise in the next season but there is no immediate prize. Why make the strongest stronger?

A prize may see less people selling up which makes things more competitive.

Teams that try harder imo deserve a reward. Personally 1M to the winner and 500k to the runner up seems fair to me, or something like that. It should be more competitive (harder for strong teams) in D1 to win a title if you add this bonus.

It may even reduce the amount of teams that decide to tank/semitank, and not just in this div, but also in d2, as they might try and promote to aim for a trophy and cash. Just something that might motivate them more.

Thats like 8 teams with 600l+ salary. I guess the other 8 teams are on floor salary.

Half the league is tanking!

BTW, 13 teams currently over 600k.

Lets say 4 teams tank 4 semi tank 8 try hard. Those in playoffs will have a real challenge. Therefor making it harder to win, meaning not all about salary but more about tactics. Just saying, it may or may not improve the toughness when it comes to playoffs, making the winner fight the whole way. This means, a cash reward makes it more worth while to try harder and may feel more worthy of the title.

There is an inbalance now and there still will be if this system comes into play. At the end of the the day, I do believe that winning the title will be more interesting and difficult if a cash incentive were to be included. This being the top div, just like any other top div, should mean everything when trying to become the champion.

I see too many teams sell up late in the season beacause they do not believe that they can achieve that goal of winning. So they shut up shop to try and save cash for another seasons when it feels right. You, me, and fish play a similar style to this. If there were a cash bonus, would you go for the title?

Strategy plays a big part of what we do. That's why some tank from the begining, some semi tank, some just go for it, and so on. At the end of the day, wont a cash incentive make teams work harder, therefor making playoffs more interesting?

Wow great work Fishy. It took home court and more effort to do it but you have done what no-one else has managed this season.

WB would be on his chair like the evil guy in inspector gadget, stroking his cat saying, "Next time Fishy, next time, HAHAHAHAHA!"

So Pancakes just bought Degas, taking their salary total above Whitebeards. Zero will sell, so they will end up 2nd behind the beard in salary. Still a massive buy, and should now put some fear to those that expected to have it a little easier.

Nice work C-Cat!

Cheers mate we'll see how it goes, Degas coming up threw a spanner in the works as i wasn't exactly looking at that sort of salary replacement when i started listing Zero. Still need to do a bit of shuffling but happy with the turnaround of my 30's i had last season to the guys i have now...

I noticed Mansfield is back up on the market, maybe i could go all out
