Not entirely sure why interest is so low, hence I asked the question of the candidates. How can it be made better or is the game just dying out with a lack of dedicated managers?

It is the worst part of the position but unfortunately a lot of the interest from the community relies on the managers of the NT's. The NT remained relevant thru a great season but our U21 team appeared as a shadow of its former self. How can it be improved? I agree it is up to everyone to help but the manager is the captain of the ship so bares a heavy responsibility.

1) I don't have any responsibility in this one.
People are people.
They don't have as much interest in BB as we do.
I think the U21 is less important to Canadian managers so, I think that if we let them know about getting involved they might join up and voice their opinions.

2) I know which games mean what. I have become more inviting to my U21 team.
I let everyone voice their opinions.

3) I think different from him.
On my spreadsheet, I found a guy and my dad thought he wasn't good and I did.
So, we do have certain similar opinions.
But, we are different people.
I tried all year to be nice to everyone on this forum and to not get you guys mad.

Go Canada!

Question for all.
Will you maintain a roster database on the offsite? (somewhere that others can see the growth of players) I remember Kumiko sending me a message and congratulating me for getting more than 10 pops for my player. (I had no idea but it sure made focus after being reminded of the positive.) It is extremely hard to give an opinion if you do not know the players skills.
Sorry for the rambling post, the question is on the first line.

You did do it, I was referring more to an ongoing tally. Kumiko even gave us weekly updates - pops this week. Your last roster update was in October. (Things change a lot over that time.) Sorry I was not more clear.

You cannot scout guys during the season.
Your enthusiasm goes down when you dismiss a player.
You are only allowed 18 players on the team at once.

1) Obviously contacting the managers and posting on the forum is not that effective, so the only way I see to increase the interest is by winning games with their players and show them that their efforts count. But Sparky already does that ;)

2) Sparky did a great job. I would have made different choices in terms of players and strategy but other than that there's no need to do drastic changes in the way the U21 is played.

3) ROUNDED players, especially bigs with great secondaries (even if it means lower primaries). Every large country can afford to have players with massive primaries. We need to differenciate from that and develop rounded players. As a bonus it's better for the NT afterwards.

And of course keeping the depth charts updated on a weekly basis. I don't have a U21 player so I don't know if Sparky sends message to owners on a regular basis to push them / thank them, but I know Kumiko did and that's certainly something that keeps at least a few managers interested in the U21. Also I think I would avoid all the "19yo draftee is too old for U21" crap. I drafted 3 players at the age of 19, and I'm pretty sure they all would have been fine on the U21 at the time, and I still have them and still train them, and I know of at least another team (friend of mine) that is in the same position and thinks the same. In other words, no "hard" no to managers.

anybody know if their is an official title for U21 Assistant manager?

And even having people keeping occasionally checking up on people with U21 potential trainees is a great way to keep managers involved.

There are no bigs with secondaries.
At this level, there is not enough time to have great secondaries.
