Like I said, I've seen similar occurrences as the first case you've shown. I personally consider it to be a bug, but one that is definitely not caused by recent changes. Setting players only as reserves is what caused that.

However, now that you've confirmed your depth chart distribution in your most recent game... that's a fourth quarter "garbage garbage time" behavior - happening in the third quarter! I have never seen that happen in the third quarter before this week, but I've now seen it twice: I don't really watch my team's scrimmages live, but since my team won yesterday's match in a blowout and I set my lineup in a way that matches yours, it was naturally the first game I checked for possible abnormal GE behaviors in the third quarter. And guess what?! When third quarter garbage time hit, my starting PF, who had been subbed out for the player that was both his backup and reserve just a few minutes before, went in to replace my point guard. All starters other than the PF had themselves set as their backup and reserve. Here is when it happens: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/87467287/reportmatch.as.... And here is just an example from my previous week's scrimmage where that kind of substitution didn't occur under pretty much the same circumstances: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/87461022/reportmatch.as...

The main difference between your case and mine is that my PG went back to the game at the start of the fourth quarter, but that's probably because he was subbed out for another starter. When the game engine changes a player's position, that choise carries on to the rest of regulation, but I assume a new quarter resets it if it's depth chart role is bigger than the one of the new position.

Anyway, I wonder if this change (273587.3) made by BB-Marin this week could have made that substitution behavior also appear in the third quarter. His explanation of the change makes me believe that shouldn't be the case, but well...

Every time i play against bot/tanking team (lot of games this season) my players are in foul trouble whereas i win the game with +80 or +100 i, have plenty of players fouled out, whereas the opponent has no problem...it seems regardless to the defensive abilities of the player because my best defenders do that...lot of these fouls occurs in no shot situation, usually a lot in the first quarter (i had a player fouled out in 13 min, with 4 "useless" fouls in the 1st quarter). It happens almost every game this season...
(today's game: 126-37 , defensive ratings 7- 6 vs 2+3-, pers fouls 26 vs 14, 2 players with 5 fouls, 1 with 4, 3 with 3, vs only one player with 3 fouls for my bot opponent, happily i used the good pre game strategy and i didn't use fast offense telling myself you will manage to put me in foul trouble in such a (no-)game)

The late subs concerning players who were planned to play 48min are abusive too, i know there is no guarantee but i had this sort of thing with 4 seconds remaining in the game (today 37sec)...it's like lets waste some training just for fun, i doubt the player would have had a heart attack playing 4 more seconds!

So, fouls are a problem in blowouts, it's true, and we will look into that.

As for the late subs, don't worry about missing a couple of seconds for training, it won't affect training badly, we do have some leeway there.
