Big 8 News: West Palm Beach gets a huge upset win over Clairemont Condors. 86-82. They claim the early 6th spot and show they aren't a team you can sleep on any more.

Only one team has been eliminated from the cup. With it being round 3 its expected but still slightly impressive to only have one team out.

The only teams to follow my preseason prediction so far is the Generals and the Planes. The Generals closest game was a 15 point low scoring (85-70) to the Mercy Buckets.

The game of the upcoming week will be I Believe That We Will Win @ Washington Generals. This game will show if anyone in the Big 8 can stop them this year.

As for the battle for second (This section will just feature how these teams have fared against each other unless a major upset has occurred)

Team Turn Up: Currently ranked 5th. Win over I Believe. Losses: Green Peppers and Mercy Buckets. They will play West Palm Beach next. This is a big game for West Palm. This could give them a chance at becoming a serious contender for the playoff race.

Green Peppers: Currently ranked 4th. Wins over Team Turn Up and I Believe. Losses: Mercy Buckets. They will play Clairemont Condors. After a rough loss to West Palm the Condors will look to try and bounce back with a win against the Peppers.

Mercy Buckets: Currently ranked 3rd. Wins against Green Peppers and a very solid win against Team Turn Up. Losses: I Believe. Next game will be against the Planes. Planes are heading in a direction that seems like one Big8 win this season could be difficult. Should be an easy win for Mercy Buckets to go 5-2 in Big 8 play.

I Believe That We Will Win (Need you to make it shorter dude) Currently ranked 2nd with a big point differential. Wins against Mercy Buckets. Losses: Green Peppers and Team Turn Up. The two early losses could hurt as the next opponent for I Believe is the Generals. If they manage the upset they will be 5-2 along with the Peppers and Mercy Buckets heading into cross play(If all win). However if they lose they will be tied with Team Turn Up at 4-3.

Unless West Palm is able to manage an upset or two and the Condors are able to climb back up, these will be the teams fighting for playoff spots all season long. I hope to do this news more often so long as people will respond and add to it.

Remember that my only losses came before I had a complete roster. I'm undefeated since I got my 5 current starters. Hopefully I can stay in the cup another round, I have a pretty tough team coming up.

As for my name being too long, just go with I Believe or IBTWWW or something. Everyone will understand what you mean.

I'm going to try and save and make a one or two purchases late in the season, hopefully, I can make the playoffs without any purchases, but I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't make it this year. This is kind of a training/ rebuilding year for me.

Good game. I'm surprised you beat me on low, but I guess 17 turnovers will do that to you.

Can anyone share why predicting an "inside" gameplan is incorrect for "inside isolation?" I find that a little odd.

Yeah good game to you too. Inside Insolation is considered a balanced offense, I am not sure why exactly. I guess the ball is spread around evenly until you can get your best big one on one or something like that.
You have a history of guessing my tactics so this time I made sure to switch it up and do something that was technically not an inside offense. Your 2-3 zone was smart though, it forced me to take more threes than I wanted to.

Inside isolation gdp is the same as base offense's aka balanced/normal

er.. it's a weird offense and no one is 100% sure what the outcome of it will always be (i dont like to use it ever unless im throwing off a gdp or it's an easy game)

basically one of your bigs will become the primary ball handler, like a PG... but at PF or C... i'm not sure if SF is involved. It doesnt mean he'll score, but generally a SF or PF may score most on this offense. Or a guard, since they can become open when all the attention is being paid to the big. It's not an inside offense at all, hence the gdp isnt inside. It's just that an inside player as i said before handles the ball the most.

if you have a big with good handling/passing/driving he should be amazing on this offense and you could consider it as a regular option though.

and it's basically vice versa with outside isolation, guard handles it primary, kind of like Harden for the rockets maybe? but not guaranteed that amount of scoring. It's possible though depending on your team build.

and i'll go back to my cave in barbados now ;)

12/9/15 Big 8 News:

- IBTWWW defeats the previously undefeated Washington Generals 85-79. With more than 10000 in attendance at The District, the Generals weren't able to stop the red hot team in IBTWWW. In further examination of the game, even though the Generals destroyed IBTWWW on the boards (64-46), they weren't able to capitalize on their chances shooting 33%. The most shocking stat of the night was that IBTWWW put their effort level on low and still got the victory.

- Cross-division play began yesterday. The top 6 all snuck out with victories Tuesday against the Great 8.

- The team to beat in the Great 8 (Tartans) will have a rough next three games with playing the Green Peppers, Washington Generals, and IBTWWW. These three games will more or less prove the better division.

- Clairemont continues to struggle. After a promising offseason, it seems as though Clairemont had to sell some assets and are now sitting 1-7 and 7th in the conference.

- West Palm Beach gains a win against the last place Jesters, but weren't able to pull off the upset against Team Turn Up putting them 2 games back of 5th.

- No changes amongst the top 5 besides the Mercy Buckets and IBTWWW changing places due to point differential. The Mercy Buckets had two easy victories and took advantage by outscoring the two 230-103.

- None of the five besides the Generals lost a game. Could be interesting seeing where the dominoes fall after cross-division play.
