Un-unite the United States of America?

Un-Unite the united states? Democrat and Republican? Upper-class, Middle-class, and lower-class? Caucasian, asian-american, african-american, inuit, etc.?

Don't we already un-unite the USA? What's the difference of this idea? doesn't the NBA have East and West? NFL has NFC/AFC and each of those has North, South, East, West?

Like a sports team, strength is found in diversity.

I think the suggestion is very creative, however I dislike the solution for the national teams. And it is somewhat unclear how the NT-players would be distributed - every region would have it's seperate pool of players?



For the nations sizes this would work quite well, although I would not name the American countries south of the US "Latin" America - most of those countries do not belong to this category.

And the USA is fine, why should we combine with Canada and split into 4 separate leagues? The answer is because it would be overall better for the game IMO. Do you think all the countries in the other regions speak the same language/s? Not even in the main thread was every merger including 100% same language.

I placed teams based on regions as best I could. As I say in the original post, someone smarter than me could change up the regions. I did the best I could to create evenly numbered Territories thus balancing the economic advantages/disadvantages of teams in bigger/smaller nations.

And it has already been discussed in the main merger thread that language sub-forums would be a necessity.

The Region would simply be who your Cup games would be included with. The Territory would act as your Nation. Thus your NT-players would be distributed based on your Territory.

As I said in the original post, the names are just what I used to categorize the regions. The point of the post is the idea, not what names of specific regions or territories need to be. And not even what nations need to be in what regions. Although, "Latin America" isn't too far off since the specific definition is countries in the Americas speaking Romance languages. The only countries I would say have an argument against "Latin America" would be in the Caribbean, but for numbers reasons they were pushed south instead of grouping with "North America".

It's funny when you want to marge 10 countries to a Balkan league, total unnecessarily... In most of those countries, activity is more then fine.

You seem to be looking at the merging of nations as a micro issue, and if countries are fine then they don't need to worry about it or what happens. I'm looking at it as a game issue across all countries. Even if your country is fine, as I said USA is just fine the way it is, merging would be better for the overall game and especially the economy and competitiveness of the whole game IMO.

I do think having separate territory flags adds unnecessary complexity.

If that's the suggestion, I'd personally prefer a system that explicitly decouples the country from the league, so that at some point higher up, you go from a national league into a regional league, and in very small countries, there may be regional leagues at lower levels. But a team that's Norwegian, for example, whether they're in a lower level league that's exclusively Norwegian or a Scandanavian regional league or a European super regional league or a worldwide SuperChampionTurbo League should still always be considered a Norwegian team, with a Norwegian flag and their draftees acquiring the Norwegian flag when drafted because that's a case where the game design benefits far outweigh the alternative.

I think the ideal solution is one that lets teams maintain their national identity, and one that gives every single manager in the game opportunities to progress up or down a league structure in accordance with their managerial capabilities.
