If I was you, I'd sell that old czech player, you are on top of your competition anyways.

I joined Utopia this season and so far the experience sucks, I actually wonder why people are quitting small nations, because minor league play is frustrating enough. I still think that new teams need to be put in a winning position from day 1, although Utopia is a somewhat different thing...

My arena's just over 11k.

ridiculously big arena for a division IV, regardless of being utopia or anywhere else. even for divison II you would have to set your prices really low to fill it.

Not so big for Div III.

How many seats did you sell when you were in Div III? I doubt you have ever managed to sell out without dropping the prices for at least half of the full ticket prices. which means you made as much money with your 11k arena as someone with a 5,5k arena with full prices (the latter having spent some millions less to make the same money in the end).

Might want to chill on the condescension a tad... cheers in anticipation.

Until my SG was injured, and the losses piled on, I was seeing about 70-80% attendance (I think my highest was around 83ish%).

Sorry for the condescension. Anyway, I think you are facing a very common problem among managers in lower leagues who expand too much their arenas. Maybe the mantra "first of all expand your arena, first of all expand your arena" repeated ad nauseam around those forums is just a really bad advice.

Hmmmm... was fine in div III.

My problem with that was landing in a tough div III (unexpectedly - I didn't win div IV, but promoted) - then that post winning quite a few games and managing to stay between 3rd to 5th, an injury that stretched on beyond expectations and dropped me down to 5th... I didn't recover - and ended up 6th.

Shoganai. It does surprise me that the admin doesn't see a correlation between very tough relegation penalties and a dwindling player base that struggles to get new players (by and large) to stick.

Last season was the same for me... Div III, a pretty solid team, I had two complicated personal weeks and couldn't manage BB properly, went from 3rd to 6th and lost the playoffs, now back to div IV... utopia is tough, only experienced players, i got there and some teams had already some seasons... hard to get to the top.

Anyway, I checked your attendance last season and roughly you were making the same money with your I was making with mine... same happens now in div IV for both teams... your arena is 11k and mine is 6,9k though... difference is prices... prices are as important as number of seats and all i read here is "expand, expand", no word about prices... a full 6k arena with full prices makes as much money as a half 12k arena with half prices, difference is the 12k arena cost millions more to build and those millions mean worse players, worse trainees, less chances of being promoted...

Sorry to bring this personal comparison but my point is there is no need to expand that much, specially when you are in lower divisions and cash is much more scarce.

I would not advise anyone to listen to you. Even if you managed to reach Div I with a joke of an arena.

A larger arena does not hurt and with the transfer prices this high its really a cheap investment to max out the arena.

ok, man, btw i just reached Div I in Brazil with a joke of a 10k arena. now i'm upgrading it a bit and with the extra income generated by those seats (sold by max prices) i'll match my division's average weekly income. forecast for this season is to finish 5th in my conference, by next season i'll have enough cash to upgrade a bit my roster and keep growing, the plan is to be fighting for championship in 3-4 seasons, by there my arena will be around 15k which is a perfect size for a max division. for me a joke is to ostentate a 20k+ arena that never gets filled even with lower prices.

but, seriously now, don't hear to what i'm saying, keep building, those millions could be used to bid on the players i'll be searching on the transfer list, build empty seats instead!!!
