Putting a low starting price can be a good strategy; it attracts a lot of buyers and leads to bid wars. This is the reason why Free Agents often sell for tons of money. Anyways, BBs correct sales when the price is too high so why can't they do it when the price is too low, due to server issues. Otherwise they're unfairly rewarding some teams, while hurting others.

It's clear that BB has been encountering a lot of problems lately. Twice this season already, servers have gone down. Prior to this season this used to never happen. Also, people have been complaining about attendance being calculated incorrectly for a few weeks now.

Marin seems to view these issues as random bugs that just come up, but the question is why are all these bugs now happening so frequently. I don't think it's so random and it definitely points to deeper issues.

Well consider this message which is displayed before you sell your player:

If you feel you have received an unreasonable sale price for this player (or just want to be on the safe side), it is your responsibility to make a formal report as soon as possible.

The player in question was sold for an unreasonably low price, which unfairly hurts the seller, while rewarding the buyer. Anyways, the reason the rules only explicitly mention overbidding is because underbids are prevented by the market: if a player's price is too low, other users will raise the price. The reason it didn't happen in this case is because of server issues.

How can you disagree? A manager is playing this game for ages and knows how stable it is. And now he's complaining about something even written in rules? These affairs occur during almost every shutdown and after 10 years of playing you should be aware of that. It's always risky to sell your player for 1 $. This game is in the same condition from the beginning. There is no reason to think it's gonna get better miraculously.

That message tells the manager to report an unreasonable price for the GMs to investigate the cause of the bid and avoid cheating. But in this case we know the cause of the unreseanable price, so the reporting is unnecesary.

You don't know why the site crashed. Maybe it was that user trying to get players dirt cheap, but maybe you know for a fact that wasn't the case because you or someone you know crashed the site. Which is it?

If it was a short shutdown I'd agree, but the website was down for over 12 hours for me. I couldn't see the result of my game and the following day I could not set the lineup for the scrimmage for quite a while. If the Devs see they can't solve the problem on their end it does make sense they freeze all auctions.

Just to clarify, BBs and staff said that it's 'normal' to push back auctions without any warning when a protracted shutdown happens. People have complained about this very thing too, as it had impact on NTs, sale prices and some time zones being cut off from auctions.

You can't have it both ways and proclaim that it's ok to use double standards based on a whim by some of the staff. Either you delay or you don't and you do so every time this kind of situation arises. And you better write down black on white what the policy is in this kind of situations and stick to it, so everyone knows, everyone gets the same treatment. Otherwise you get outraged people both when you push back and when you don't because there is no official policy and no consistent behaviour.

I am totally reconciled with te state as it is. Far-from-perfect. Always the solution with minimal effort. Almost no official communication when problems occur. No development of The Code. No fresh graphic design of the page. That's Buzzerbeater how I know it and how I like it.

People will always complain. I see it on Hattrick. Every single change in the game is hated by a significant number of users. And they are really developing it, communicate, the page works properly.
