NBBA Season 70 – Day 2 Recap (Tuesday, October 21, 2025)
by Buzz Beat Daily

Virginia Cavaliers Win a Thriller on the Road
The Virginia Cavaliers continued their perfect start to Season 70, edging the Visionaries 108–107 in one of the most exciting finishes of the early season. D. Suggs calmly sank two free throws in the final seconds to seal the deal, capping a clutch performance for the defending USA Cup champions. N. Stanton led with 22 points and 9 assists, while L. Castro controlled the glass. Despite a monstrous outing from Q. Laperche (26 pts, 16 reb, 6 blk, 42 efficiency), the Visionaries fell to 0–2 at home — a rare sight for the long-tenured powerhouse.

Splash Gang Catch Fire, Hand Champs First Loss
In their home opener, Splash Gang came out blazing, handing the defending champions Stark Contrast a 100–81 defeat. After a flat start to the season, Plasma’s squad responded emphatically behind hot perimeter shooting and crisp ball movement. The addition of Roscoe Anderson is already paying off, as his defensive presence and leadership fueled the Gang’s fast-paced attack. The champs looked a step slow all night, as Splash Gang reminded everyone they’re still one of the league’s most dangerous home teams.

ExplosiveBubbleWrap Burst Out in ETBU
The ExplosiveBubbleWrap bounced back in a big way, lighting up the ETBU Tigers 114–86 on the road. Devin Marino and Bloody Dowell led the charge, combining for highlight plays as Bubbles showed off their trademark high-IQ, fluid offense. After a frustrating narrow loss on opening night, E.B.W.’s team looked rejuvenated — turning defense into transition points and silencing the Tigers’ home crowd.

Wobbles Earn First-Ever NBBA Win
History was made as Wobbles claimed their first-ever NBBA victory, taking down the Kings Knights 86–75 on the road. E. Hosemann was a beast inside, grabbing 20 rebounds to anchor Wobbles’ paint dominance. Toast’s young squad displayed poise and balance throughout, closing strong against one of the league’s most physical teams. Kings Knights, meanwhile, struggled offensively and fell to 1–1.

LA Lions and Lords Light It Up
Los Angeles basketball fans had plenty to cheer for, as both city squads came away with impressive wins. The LA Lions toppled 10inch Vertical 112–96 behind a stellar T. Swiety performance (30 pts, 13 reb, MVP of the evening). Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lords made another statement, dropping 121 points in a road win at Delaware 87ers. Elishay Dahan and Antonio Fornos spearheaded the offensive onslaught, showcasing the Lords’ elite firepower and confirming that GagneOutWest’s team means business in their debut NBBA season.

Silverbacks Dominate at Home
The Silverbacks were ruthless in their home opener, dismantling the Jumpstop Jumpers 98–60. B. Kyle (28 pts, 14 reb) and R. Jones (near triple-double) combined to suffocate Jumpstop on both ends, while the team piled up 13 blocks to completely erase the paint. After two commanding wins, the Silverbacks look like early favorites in the Great 8 — their defense is once again setting the tone.

TarTeam Rebounds, Mill City Stumbles
After a disappointing start to their campaign, TarTeam bounced back with an authoritative 83–68 road win over Mill City Thunder. Their defense clamped down on the high-octane duo of Cis and Q, holding Mill City to just 68 points. TarTeam’s discipline and experience showed, while the Thunder still seem to be finding their rhythm with new pieces in the lineup.

Final Word
Day 2 brought fireworks across the NBBA — from Virginia’s clutch victory in Visionaries’ gym to Splash Gang’s resurgent home statement against the champs. Both LA squads

I'll throw a quick tiers ranking out there now that most of the offseason TL activity is done. Teams within a tier are roughly a similar caliber, ordering is who I think is best but I didn't put a ton of thought into the within tier rankings.

I think there is a real argument that 4 of the top 5 and maybe 5 of the top 6 teams are in the Great 8. Seeding amongst those teams is gonna be tight, don't want to drop early games the next few weeks. On the flip side, 2 thru 8 in the Big 8 look virtually identical to me. Unless someone sells off, a pretty decent team is going to get auto-relegated and a few others will have tough relegation series.

Tier 1: Contenders if things break right
LA Lords
Tar Team
Mill City Thunder
Splash Gang
Virgnia Cavaliers

Tier 2: Aiming for the playoffs
Silverbacks
ETBU
10Inch Vertical
Visionaries
Stark Contrast
EBW
LA Lions

Tier 3: Relegation Risk
Delaware
Knights
Jumpstop
Wobbles

I prefer this tiers ranking to last season's.
However, I find it hard to believe that I can do as well.

NBBA Season 70 – Day 3 Recap (Saturday, October 25, 2025)
by Buzz Beat Daily

Record Night for Road Warriors
Day 3 of Season 70 delivered a shake-up across the NBBA, as five road teams picked up wins — the most in a single night so far this season. From upsets to statement victories, the road squads showed no fear, and the standings are already starting to tighten just one week into the campaign.

Wobbles Shock ETBU on the Road
Wobbles made a major statement with a 113–102 road win over the ETBU Tigers. P. Blum was exceptional, posting 27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals to lead the charge. Despite a brilliant 39-point performance from ETBU’s D. Pinhal, Wobbles’ young core showed poise beyond their years, executing cleanly in crunch time and earning a massive early-season confidence boost.

Lions Roar in Kings Knights’ Den
The LA Lions, led by manager Harold Miner, earned a big 106–99 away victory over the Kings Knights. Z. Chongping carried the Lions with 30 points and 8 rebounds, dictating the tempo from start to finish. Kings fought hard behind J. Carandil, but couldn’t contain the Lions’ late-game surge. The win puts the Lions squarely in the mix among the Great 8’s top contenders.

Splash Gang Bounce Back Behind Sohn’s Hot Hand
Splash Gang rebounded from a tough loss by defeating 10inch Vertical 93–76 on the road. D. Sohn was in rhythm all night, earning the “Best Performer” rating (21.0) with efficient shooting and strong perimeter play. The revamped Splash lineup, built for speed and spacing, finally clicked — a sign that manager Plasma’s offseason moves are beginning to pay off.

TarTeam Handle 87ers; Delaware Hit with Injury Setback
TarTeam took care of business against the Delaware 87ers, earning a steady 109–98 road victory. Delaware’s Patrick Randle impressed with 20 points and 19 rebounds, but the night turned sour as veteran forward Lucas Nava exited with a mild ankle sprain, sidelining him for 4–8 days. TarTeam’s consistency and composure showed why they remain one of the league’s most disciplined and dangerous squads.

Lords Claim Road Victory Over Jumpers
Los Angeles Lords continued the away-team dominance, defeating the Jumpstop Jumpers 97–85. Veterans E. Dahan and O. Gesla were defensive anchors, combining for 6 steals to turn momentum late in the game. Jumpers guard E. Runfolo played all 48 minutes in a gritty effort, but it wasn’t enough to slow the balanced attack of manager GagneOutWest’s squad.

Hooks Dominates as Cavaliers Stay Perfect
The Virginia Cavaliers remained unbeaten, downing the Silverbacks 86–71 behind another monstrous outing from M. Hooks. The reigning USA Cup champions’ big man tallied 20 points, 23 rebounds, and 5 blocks, earning MVP of the Night with a 36 efficiency rating. The Cavaliers are proving that last season’s success was no fluke, now sitting firmly atop the standings.

Mill City Thunder Clamp Visionaries
Mill City Thunder picked up a 103–92 road win over Visionaries, showcasing why they remain a championship threat. W. Ruojia dished 9 assists to lead a balanced offense, while T. Pok Yin swatted 6 shots inside. Manager TonyC’s Thunder have quickly re-established themselves as a defensive powerhouse — and newcomer Rodger “Cis” Cisneros continues to settle in nicely.

Champions Survive Another Test; Dowell Injured
The defending champs Stark Contrast improved to 2–1 with a narrow 95–90 win over ExplosiveBubbleWrap. Despite the victory, it was a tough night for the Bubbles, as team legend “Bloody” Bruce Dowell suffered a pulled groin that will keep him sidelined for 10–20 days. Stark continue to look sharp in crunch-time execut

Your free throw defense almost gave me an aneurysm during the live match, but after the game ended and I could see the ratings, I felt like we stole one and realized I would have lost it either during or after the game no matter which side I was on.

edit: Yeah, I just need to stop watching these. Yuri Siracusa, a guy making 75k a week, just played the first 24 minutes straight without a sub. Guys making 120k, 140k, 190k, they all get subs, but, apparently, Yuri Siracusa is just indispensable. We can't afford to rest him or it will all fall apart, we're much better off making it fall apart by deliberately running him into the ground, than resting him. This way, we'll have no hope of recovering when we lose the lead.

I grabbed the lineup from a random pickup game against some guy that challenged me during my match last Saturday, which went really well, but, I'm watching the replay right now, and, yeah, it looks like my coach is going to play Siracusa for 48 minutes straight unless he fouls out or it goes into garbage time, smh. That makes no sense to me. It's my fault for not noticing during the pickup game since I only checked the boxscore, but he's barely better than his backup and stamina isn't an issue for my team right now. No timeouts have been called, so it's not like he isn't in dire need of a substitution at this juncture. It just feels like I suddenly don't know how to substitute for a player in some games. He has a reserve and a backup, both of whom routinely sub for guys making 2x what he makes a week.

edit2: I just want him to foul out or get injured at this point. I almost didn't even start him, I think we're better with Holtz on the floor. There isn't a single player on my team that I want to play all game instead of just leaving them out of the lineup entirely. I don't even care about winning anymore, I just want to see the coach pull this player out of the game for a minute.

edit3: Eff this game. eff this site. Eff this AI coach. Eff this match engine and all 10,000 lines of code. If you're still reading this, eff you. And eff anyone that just scrolled past.

Yeah don’t get me started brother. I still don’t understand how I lost that one. All the numbers say I should of edged that one out, but somehow you won by 7 ….

Lions went 7/15 from three, 47% compared to the NBBA norm of < 30%. I guess NBBA is also a make-or-miss league just like the NBA...
