I have reliable information from a certain GM that his former NT player with a salary of $49,xxx had entered the soft cap zone before this season.

I can confirm (based on my centers) that around 50-55k the cap starts to kick in and it kicks in hard.

As NT coach I have found that the cap for allstar players is somewhere around 50k salary...

Interesting. Does the cap depend on a player's best position? Is it lower for guards?

It's pretty well established by now that the salary cap for allstars is about 80,000. I doubt that this guy has managed to add 35k in salary since the start of season. But he might be getting close, I guess.

The all-star soft cap can hit players with salaries as low as around $50k. I suppose that is a little known fact.

You are of course right. it could vary a bit based on position/skillset.

It should not be affected by positions as long as player´s "position" is only a rough orientation for newbies... I think its only salary.... I just made up new interesting question :) does anybody know, if there are subskills in potencial? :)

That's not really true. Salary is affected by the best position so if caps work anything like it, which is possible, they could depend on the best position as well. Hence the question.

See (46657.42).

Also, about 50k. I've noticed that these two guys with allstar potential ((3088888) and (2818928)) have been steadily getting better over the last few seasons (their salary was nowhere near that in season 5, when potentials were introduced). I'm not saying this 50k figure is wrong, but if it isn't, the cap seems to be a very soft one.

This is an interesting thread, but BBs didnt said that it is true. I studied their results carefully and I still think that each skill counts the same for every position - the difference is very small so it can possibly be deviation caused by subskills. I agree that some skills count more than others, but that is all I can accept. Position is only formulation of proportion of skills and has no other purpose.
