When a team touches the ball almost 100 more times than the other you would think they got more free kicks but the Eagles ended up + 7. They never pay a deliberate out of bounds in the West and there were a couple of occasions when the game was in the balance in the first half the refs wouldn't pay it. The eagles were playing the man in the second half not the ball, it was pretty obvious without some of there more classy players the young guys were overwhelmed.
One thing I would agree with is the Swans seemed to have a bit more time in tackles at some point, players like O'Keefe and Kennedy who are big mids I might add, but the holding/dropping the ball rule has become so unpredictable.
Refs needs to focus on throws too.
It's funny but, 2 months ago I wrote an article on the roar.com.au about Sydney's forward woes saying we needed Reid to step-up while Goodes went down. Then bam Lewis Jetta has become damn reliable after his first year woes in front of goal. LRT and Reid do the team things well but in September I think they could be a little overwhelmed themselves when there's less time for the mids to crete and run.
