Game recaps 12

Dutchmen at Prov City

Guards were going at it again in this one. Gagis came out firing for the Dutchmen and drained 31 but it was not enough because Carmona had 37. Many similarities in this game but a huge night of rebounding for the Prov City boys helped to seal the win on this one. Prov City 114 Dutchmen 99

VD's at Allstars

You would thing with the added effort the Allstars put into this one that they could have put up more then 9 points in the opening frame. Both teams struggled to make any 3 pointers but better rebounding and better shooting still put the VD's up at the end. VD's 77 Allstars 64

Tachenko at Crank dat

Another OT game boys. Tachenko came into this one looking to bang em down low and Crank Dat was firing away. Wait this just in somebody outscored Junde....luckily for Crank dat it was Nelson from his own team. Nelson was on fire as he drained 40 on the Tachenko defense. This game ultimately came down to foul shots. Tachenko gave up 39 free shots to Crank Dat and this one would have been over long before the OT had Crank Dat actually shot better then 50% from the line. Will this lack of ability from the line cost Crank Dat...........not so far. Crank Dat 104 Tachenko 99

Champaign at Challengers

Champaign has decided to concentrate on the cup and his season is evidence. Two different offenses one worked the other did not. Champaigns defense allowed almost all 8 of the Challengers players to reach double digits which never bodes well for the final score. Challengers 112 Champaign 70

Phantoms at Blasters

One still in the cup and one not.............and it showed. Both looked to fire away often. Phantoms put 4 guys in double digits and that was two more then the Blasters. Phantoms 80 Blasters 55

Flames at NP

Phizzzt that was the flame going out..................NP 105 Flames 34

Terrors at Phakeouts

Both teams looked to go inside...............problem only one team played defense. Terrors 92 Phakeouts 55

Crazy's at Bobcats

If not for the OT game this would have been the game of the night. Both teams played Jekel and Hyde quarters going back and forth by quarters. At the end of the 3rd it appeared Cleveland would have been done but sharp shooting in the 4th had the Crazy's back up with less then a minute to go. Timely baskets by the Bobcats put them back up for good and the added effort at home paid off as they grabbed one away from the Crazy's. Peszini was a beast again with 33 pts and 16 boards. Burgess also put 30 up for the Bobcats which helped offset the sharpshooting Crazy's.
Bobcats 113 Crazy's 110

MVP Nelson 40 pts

Big 8 21
Great 8 19

Great 8 closes the gap tonight

Game 13 recaps

Prov City at Tachenko

Prov City came out firing in the first but a huge 2nd and 4th quarter by the Tachenko gang kept Prov City in check. Magagoita had another huge game with 30 pts and 18 boards. Carmona and Faeber had a big night netting 56 pts for their team but a 2 for 11 performance from 3 land by Carmona did not help. Tachenko 122 Prov City 109

Bobcats at Dutchmen

TDX boys came out hot and had a ncie lead at the half which they did not give up. Peszini played great as usual for the Cats but it is becoming glaringly obvious that he cannot do it on his own. 27 pts and 21 boards helped pad his stats but his team still went down. Turnovers and free throws were a key in the loss again tonight for the Cats. Dutchmen 111 Cats 83

Crank Dat at VD's

VD's came out with some serious effort right from the beginning but it was domination in the last 3 quarters that really did the Soulja Boys in. Even with some anemic shooting from the exterior Benson was able to drain 28 to pace his team. In the end more rebounds and more assists meant a victory for VD's VD's 99 Crank Dat 66

Allstars at Champaign

This one was over earlly and the allstars kept the pressure on throughout. The allstars put 6 players in double digit points and that was more then enough to finish off the Champaign crew. Allstars 109 Champaign 68

Challengers at Phantoms

Both teams came out with the same offensive mindset and set the stage for a good show for the fans. Nobody has had an answer for the Phantoms this season and the Challengers didn't figure it out either. Nobody had spectaculor nights here but Phantoms had a complete team effort which spelled W I N tonight. Phantoms 92 Challengers 65

Blasters at Flames

Didn't take much of a blast for this flame to go out. Blasters 113 Flames 45

NP at Terrors

Don't look now but the Terros have been tough as of late. One team came out shooting and the other was bangin it down low. Beckman and Gallano had huge nights for the NP team. Beckman was hot with 34 pts but the Terrors put 6 in double digits with Eason leading the Terrors with 30. Rebounding was a huge bonus for the Terrors in this game and NP could not overcome the boards. Terrors 121 NP 98

Phakeouts at Crazy's

The Phakeouts came out hot early and kept pace with a Crazy's team that seemed to leave a little bit in the locker room. The Phakeouts looked to pound it down low and the Crazy's looked for their guards to pull it out. Foul trouble seemed to plague the Phakeouts from the beginning and giving Cleveland 21 pts from the charity stripe never helps the outcome. Additional rebounds and great foul shooting helped Cleveland pull out this home win. Crazy's 94 Phakeouts 77

MVP

Mayagoita 30 pts 18 rbs

Big 8 27
Great 8 21

Big 8 widens the gap tonight!

Yep everyone......Allstar voting is up and teams look interesting. Big 8 on paper we could be in some trouble.............but paper doesn't always mean a loss so it should be interesting. I thought the Great 8 starting SF was an interesting start but not saying he was not deserving.
