Huh? My starting PG scored the most average points per game, and wasn't even CONSIDERED for the MVP?!?! He played every game, and was not injured, so how does that work?

Perhaps the judges took overall contribution to the team into account.

I noticed Nate Clinton put up very poor numbers in terms of assists, rebounds and steals. Perhaps his defending was poor too.

In my league last season, the MVP was in the top 10 performers in scoring, rebounding and assists.

Same as my own this season's MVP.
9th in scoring (16.8), 5th in rebounding (13.3) 10th in assist (4.6)

So none of my 1st Division title winners were good enough to even make the top 8.....

Guess its safe to say that good team performance counts for nowt..... only 1 player from the 8 would make my starting 5.....

He happened to win so i actually am not moaning about this... just the fact no-one from my team even featured.....

Same thing here.
I also (day)traded some players, and agree that I have many starter that I didn't have in the beginning of season 3, but I had 2 players who did play and contributed much during the season and played key parts in all star Game and PO games.
Yet, they did not get over 40 minutes each and every game from me, rather about 20 to 25 minutes each game... And that is why they don't make it...

Still, I don't mind much. We also won the Championship, and I know which player(s) where MVP(s) to achieve this, and we can only think: In your faces you all MVP-winning-having-your-player-play-overtime-minutes-each-week-managers. ;)
No seriously, I prefer having 10 balanced players available over having 1 or a few good ones that I have to play as long as possible every game in order to win. If I get infuries, I can easely tweak my team, if you rely on 5 starters and 1 gets injured....

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

Hmm you seem a little frustrated there. But why?.

A MVP does not have to be a player of the best team. He does not have to play for the team who won the cup and the championship.

A MVP is someone who contributed the whole season to a team, and took that team to a higher level. A MVP can even play for a team who didnt even make the playoffs imo.

There isn't even 1 player of your team who was in any top-10 of the league leaders. So seems clear to me that you don't have a MVP there.

no, not frustrated, I also did not expect to have the MVP, never did, since like you also said: I have no player in top ten in any category.

MVP does indeed not to be in best team, agreed. Totally agree.

the in your faces sentence was a tip for the managers who might be frustrated (not me) to have a way of coping with it.
Also notice the ;) smiley, maybe I should have put the ;รพ smiley instead, anyway, it's blinking nonetheless.

You just read my post with the wrong intonation (happens more with written messages). I'm totally cool with it, and am happy to have a balanced team, and don't have to rely on 1 player who elevates my team. I'd be too frightened he gets injured....
:)

What I also wanted to show in the post is that we all have, in our own minds, our own MVPs in our teams, and that this is far more important and they are far more valuable to ourselves than the oficially elected MVP, and that was in a reaction to what superflyguy said about that the MVP not even would be a starter in his own team.
In my case I probably would roster our leagues' MVP as my starter, but also posibly not... what matters to me is that I put our own hero form his C position on the PF position in the finals of the PO, to hold off the opponent's PF and MVP of season 3, and that he managed to do so, winning our championship for us, and making him our personal MVP...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
