Good read! It's great to see guys with proficient experience taking time and breaking down something like FCP...thanks!

I feel very strongly about it and the fact is that the BBs would never give it an honest test and publish the results because it would ruin the game to know that LI MtM is infact all you ever need to run if winning is in fact your goal.

I think it makes the game more interesting. Look at the NBA. Teams have been effectively winning with the simple pick and roll since forever. Its effective and unstoppable with the right personnel. Has that stopped teams from innovating and finding other ways to win? No. LI is BBs pick and roll. Half the fun is finding a way to beat it.

I have never seen a defensive 3 sec. violation on BB. Teams normally vary their O and D accordingly during real games, which is not possible on BB. 6'7" guys are THE stars in real life, not on BB. Players don't try to save the ball going out of bounds on D after a missed shot only to lose possession 5 times a real game..

the thing is that you normally don't have an opponent, then and you probadly beat him with every other tactic.

FCP as standard is imho useless, but i may work against certain teams who have 1 or 2 weak spot against this tactic. The example i usually take for this, was an C i used as a U21 coach. who was good for 10 TO alone in such games. In the end of the season i was NT coach, most opponent plays fcp against him and he makes 15, 16, 12 and 18 to in the last four games ... Unluckily i couldn't post him since he is currently on the tl. Without an opponent playing FCP his To average is pretty much around 2, so you could afford playing someone with atrocious handling and passing there.

i believe against a team with solid "ball keeping" skills, you had to be very superior in rebounding that you don't loose much rebound duells through the FCP tactic. I believe in the normal area of rebounding duells, it don't make that much difference to team with equal or worse rebounding even when it look a bit better when the opponent stays below 10 second chanches.
