Ladies and gentlemen,
Finally, it has arrived: the
SEASON 20 PREVIEW!This season, the BBBL will be saying goodbye to 3 veterans: BBC Pokola, BC Tienen and Phoenix Suns (dang, you've been in the BBBL for games Sum... snif). Futhermore, we'll also be saying a temprorary goodbye to KV Forever, but considering that he's keeping his 600k salary mass, i expect him to be back real soon. Never the less, i wish all of those who go down the best of luck, but i got a gut feeling that we won't be seeing back one of the 4 descendants...
The reappearing faces are: BBC Falco Gent from II.1 and Obira Dragons from II.4 . The New BBBL faces (who will be making their first BBBL appearances this season) are The Radiations from II.2 and my former divisionbuddy Royal Canin from II.3. Questions remain to be seen if any of the promoting guy's will be able to stick around. But more on that on the individual team presentations.
Form a change, i'll start off by introducing to you, the teams in the strongest conference:
Great 8 conferenceBasket Mizu Arlon(89902)Last seasons achievement: First spot in the Great 8 division and the latest manager to add his name to the shortlist which contains the likes of Sum, JoeMaverick, GM-LoD and a few priviledge others that have won atleast one BBBL!
salary: 837 577$ for 15 players
Information: HALLALUYAH! We got a new champion. BBBL was getting boring with the domination of Vottem Cowboys. At long last, someone has managed to beat Vottem Cowboys, and that while having a less ammount of salary to go around with! Will Coach Q be able to repeat the feat? You know what they say: never change a winning team. Add to the mix that Mizu should still be in the green zone ( which can't be said for all teams in our league) and you can be sure that Mizu will be aiming to bag atleast one more trophy this season, be it the cup or the league!
prognosis Battle for the top seed with Vottem Cowboys as usual. However, Vottem has dedicated last season to training and will be out looking for redemption after his streak of winning the BBBL 6 times was snapped. Salary could however be a problem for Vottom, but knowing that vottem has an ammazing ammount of merchandise, i'm going to go with Mizu being defeated in the conference finals by the former champs (thus being second in Great 8)
Stonestars(37411)Last seasons achievement: 6th and PD victory after 3 games with the unlucky BC Tienen.
salary: 770 266$ for 16 players
Information: Home to Belgian top frontcourt players Gallagher and De Neef as well as the very promissing PG Viktor Titeux, Stonestars should be ready for a good season. However, with Titeux nearing his hardcap and considering the age of Kurt Votaga, who has anchored down that SF spot for so long, you got to wonder where the Stonestars will go. An early cup exit could spice things up for the division, but what Stonestars really need, is a new SF or stretched PF who can play the SF for them. Big question tho is where are they going to get the money from. Bigs don't sell very well, so i sure hope Steonstars has some kind of economical backbone to help them out getting that new player... Never the less, when stonestars put things on the line, they are a team to reckon with. They have a top frontcourt duo as usual, and have some fine guards in the back to help their frontcourt out and feed them with easy passes. If only the manager would understand that using his own teams best strength could really put him in a situation to win the league, they he could be a contender for the title ( maybe not the favorite, but a contender never the less...)
prognosis Considering that he usually aims for long cupruns, i'm going to slot him into 5 position in the league. However, his spot in the division could improve in the event of an early cup exit.
