i think we should look into minimum requirements for the hall and a rolling candidate list that we keep season to season
and maybe do it like MLB-ish where a manager doesnt get in unless he/she gets a certain number or % of the popular votes?
(and a no longer eligible list? or would that give unnecessary recognition?)
in my scenario: we hold an election every 2 seasons for managers, regardless, with the candidates list
but if no1 from the candidates list is "worthy", the majority of mangers can post a null vote, therefore no1 gets in that round
i dunno, just something to think about
a) we are going to run out of "good" managers soon if we do this every 2 seasons (i think)
b) i wouldnt want to see someone get in because he/she was relatively better than the pack that season and get a highest # votes for that season
c) a rolling candidates list, so basically a second tier hall of fame so we never forget those who were kind of good, but just not the official hall of fame worthy... or something like that
for the players section, can we actually keep it to inactive/retired players only?
my votes:
- beanerz just because its nice to have an actual active manager in the hall
- TSA
