First Tuesday of the Season
The bad news is that all your seniors retire. Freshmen become sophmores etc. The good news is you recieve the list of players who have agreed to play for your team. You give scholarships to whichever ones you choose. Remember you can only have 12 scholarships at a time. You have until game time saturday (the first game of the season) to sign them. After that they are lost and go and play pro ball in China. If you do not have 12 players you will be given enough walk-ons (low skill but may have decent potential) to bring your total to 12.
Training
Training in the college game is critical and the main aim of the game. All your freshmen are like the rookies in BB now, with no skills above respectable. As you only have your players for four seasons at the most you need to keep constantly training them and getting them to be their best. Unlike in normal BB in college BB you can have two trainers and perform two types of training each week. With the exception of team training no two trainings can affect the same positions or the same players if they played diferent positions. So you could have three players trained in pressure for PG and six trained in rebounding for PF and C. You could not have three players trained in pressure for PG and six trained in jump shot for PG and SG. In order to win you will need to combine training of both inside and outside players. Do you do two position training and have a deeper team or do one position training and create a small group of stars with no depth. Do you train your seniors to try and win now but who will be gone in a few weeks or train your freshmen who you will have for four seasons? Do you train game shape once you are in the tournament to boost your chances of winning or at least being promoted?
Coach
Unlike in BB you should be able to hire a coach who is critical to the success of the team. Your coach will have specialities. For example they will get a bonus running certain offences, or certain defences, or they may generate extra scouting points each week, or they may give a small training bonus to your team etc. They will be featured prominently on the team page and in all game reports.
I am sure there is more we could add but this is all I can do for now.
