I believe the high OD pressures the PF/C from coming in to the paint and getting the easy bucket. It can force a TO, a bad shot, or causes the PF/C to pass to another player. That's why I think 10+ OD can be a good thing for PF/C. High OD on a PF/C could well be the cheapest and deadliest way to play with great defense.
Well it's not perfect, but on the other hand that doesn't happen too often. He could try boxing him out ;)
