Yes I understand, but what I want to know, are there more players like him. That started with fouling out like 5 to 10 times a season and later less to an acceptable 1,2 a season. And does the manager of that player an idea about why the fouls dropped.

As long as we keep guessing, we don't find the solution. If maybe 50 manager can show data about foul out dropping combined with the training, than maybe we can find the solution.

Only in the dark, we succeed!

I hear what you're saying, and that makes sense. I'll take a look at some of my guys to see if A) they've shown a drop in fouls/ over the seasons, and if it correlates to a specific skill increase. It might be a hard analysis, though, because for most of my guys they've been increasing in a variety of skills, and experience, the whole time. Plus, it seems like playing in a higher league would 'undo' some benefits from training since you're playing against tougher competition, so that will need to be taken into account.

In the end all you can do is replace the aggressive players. Sad but true.
Or ... since you foul a lot and the opponent gets a lot of free throws, maybe you could improve your free throw defense, eh?


We employ extremely ugly cheerleaders for precisely this reason (or, at least, now we know that it's precisely for this reason).

And to add a useful post to the thread too, I also think sometimes improving defense can actually increase fouls - for example, if you increase a big man's OD a few levels, he may end up getting more off the ball fouls called on him because he thinks he can try to steal the ball, when before he couldn't.

Blauw which I have for almost 20 seasons.

this season so far 1 foul out.
season 26 1 foul out.
season 25 2 foul out
season 24 2 foul out
season 23 1 foul out
season 22 3 foul out
season 21 2 foul out
season 20 1 foul out.
season 19 3 foul out
season 18 7 foul out
season 17 3 foul out
season 16 5 foul out.

I have checked. He started at FT 2. After season 17 I have started training him every season 1 week ft.
I know the sample is small, but I have noticed the same with other players in my NT after training of ft.


Did his foul out rate drop because... his experience raised?

IMHO experience has a large role in the number of fouls a player commit.
