Doubled up Tounes today 103-51 (35148) with a big second half.

Very balanced effort, with all but 1 player with 11.0 or 11.5 rating. Nice!

Game MVP: Mughal: 16pts, 18 rebs, 3blk, +47
Game LVP: Pavliuk: 3-13 (2-7 3s, 0-2 ft), 4ast, 2to

Australia nipped Lietuva at the buzzer, so it will be the Aussies moving on from our 2nd chance group.

We will TIE and move on to the consolation side in 2 weeks.

98-91 loss (35150) with 1 wrong GDP. Pretty good game by the squad. Did a PG/SF switch putting high JS at SF and our highest passing SF to start at PG. Not bad at all against a much stronger team.

Now we take our talents (or lack thereof) to the consolation tourney. We will have a go far to prevent USA from getting home court for Americas next season. They crashed out of their group 75-56 to Serbia.

Big five point win today (with more effort) against the previously unbeaten Swiss. (35748)

Tied at halftime and down 10 after three, we then had both our best offensive and defensive quarter (31-16) to pull away with the 81-76 final score.

Good to see motion bringing in a proficient outside scoring rating. Using 2 SGs at SG and SF proved useful as they shot a combined 17 for 36, and scoring 41 (just over half of the team's total points.)

Game MVP: Koszakov: 22 pts (8/16, 2/6 3s, 4/4 ft), 7 reb, and switching defensively on their PG who went 2/10

Game LVP: noooooooooooooooobody!

6 pops and +3 team GS this week.

Later today we face Kazakhstan who have just 2 players over 10k salary.

Let's spin the wheel of offense and see what we get.

Currently we are 29th and in the tournament bracket. We are 3-2 trailing only Lietuva and USA in point differential with all 3 teams starting 0-2 after 2nd chance qualifiers.

Comfortable 131-58 win (35791) over the Kazakhs.

Went with PTB and FCP to maximize point differential.

Game MVP: Curley shooting 11 for 12, 24 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl, 3 blk

Game LVP: nobody!

Next week we travel to Iran to kick off the 2016 sched.

Everyone have a fun and safe New Year's. Winter finally came today here with some fierce freezing rain.

Whew. Close one, as we withstood a late Iran rally and took a 82-77 win (35824) against a patient with SG at C.

I believe that will put us into the playoff bracket regardless of next week's result at home vs Indonesia. If so, we'll look to save enthusiasm. If not, then we won't!

Game MVP: Mughal - 15 pts (6/11, 1/2, 2/2), 26 reb - guarding their SG pretty well holding him to 16/38

Game LVP: Cockayne - 2 pts (1/8, 0/3, 0/0) - why he felt the need to jack up 3 3s in 14 min at PF is amusing

7 pops this week and -2 overall team GS, which is still pretty good at 8.23 avg

Indo has 2 wins by defaulting opponents but we will not underestimate them!

83-66 (35867) home win over Indonesia to finish the round unbeaten. 6-2 with the 2 losses from second chance carrying over (still a really dumb part of BB). A sweltering 56-32 first half score meant coasting to the finish in this one.

Game MVP: Curley - 17 pts (8/12 0/0 1/2), 16 reb, 3ast, 1stl
Game LVP: Pavliuk - 2 pts (1/10 0/2 0/0), but 7ast and 2stl

We open the elimination round as #19 against the vs #14 Czech Republic.
