Well, lets imagine we're a 6th seed team. It means, there's at least 4 teams drafting ahead of us. What are the odds of winning a good draft? Probably low, therefore we find a reason not to like the game as much.
Even if we're are the 1st seed team, we still have a huuuuge chance not to get anything worth while. So once again - a reason for a player to get over BB. Not to mention the fact, that you have to tank the whole season for it w/o any competition while having your games boicotted by fans

.
And when we add to the situation, that we wait 3 months to only have a chance at a decent trainee...

__________
In terms of devaluing young players - I agree to some extent. It has been one of the few fast-ish ways to get some extra money, and that way will probably lose some of it's value. But looking on the other end of this argument - why the hell did we have such high prices of young players? Because there was no one to choose from, so those 5 56+SS pot7's/pot8's cost a fortune, leaving other players with mediocore (therefore easily expendable) players or nothing at all. Which again, leads to the abyssmal emptiness of the player market.
And don't even get me started on all of the "pot7, pot8, even pot9 players are not good enough" people, that don't even have the patience to cap them

.
So all in all, I find the increase of availability for training a massive improvement to the game
