I don't think it's absolutely pointless to spend on the draft

The way the draft currently is, it's very pointless to spend on the draft.

I get the point of a few divisions featuring great prospects while most divisions only end up offering average trainees as best choices. Outstanding players must be rare to keep their value. That's ok.

The problem with this design is that you have to invest a lot and risk getting nothing most of the times, while most managers don't invest anything (because it's expensive, high risk and low reward) and some get free outstanding trainees because nobody bothered scouting them.

That said, I suggest the following:

In the mid-season, when the draftees are made available, a board of specialists should publicly evaluate every list of trainees of every division. 1 to 5 balls. 5 balls meaning something like "hey, there are at least 3 MVP+ 5k+ caliber players on this list", 1 ball meaning "be advised, the best player on this list is a 19yo superstar with 4k salary"... then the managers could make a decision about spending the points or saving for the future... this could encourage managers to always invest a bit and keep points just in case, spending them when it's expected to be worthy, (and when it happens, creating some competition within the division)... this would also assure that the great prospects end on the hands of teams which invested and not on the hands of random lucky bastards.

Draft is risky.

I got some MVPs or superstars in previous seasons. One 18yo MVP was foul prone so I sold him(not able to play >40minutes in scrimmage).
You can draft HoF and train for 10seasons and in the end you are loosing B3 final because of fouls

42 TSP 19yo is ridiculous. He has 31 skills less than my 19yo.

I noticed that 19yo with high potential have much lower TSP than 19yo with low potential.
I drafted 73 TSP 19yo 4potential.

I don't love draft, no high hopes just additional part of game.

That is true - some draft classes are just garbage. With the changes to 19 year old starting skills, some of those might be good. But there's no way to distinguish the 19 yo with 5K+ salary from those with 3.5K salary as they're all listed A+.

To try and improve this, we've upped the estimations for both 18 and 19yolds. We'll see if this helps things on the next draft reveal.

This was my draft order. I got my 2nd pick, player 40 and my 7th pcik, player 13. I documented these here(318438.17) after the draft locked, but well before the results were posted.

scout# min fg 3pt FTs OR TR AST TO ST Blk PF PTs Str Pot Pos Grd Age Height
1 31 6-10 3-3 2-2 0 1 0 1 3 1 0 17 5 4 SG A 18 6'0
40 37 7-16 1-3 1-8 1 3 5 2 3 1 3 16 5 4 SG A 18 6'2
48 36 11-20 1-3 18-20 4 12 3 2 4 3 5 41 5 3 SG A+ 18 6'5
20 20 0-5 0-0 2-2 0 1 1 3 0 2 1 2 5 5 C A- 18 7'0
16 22 3-9 1-1 0-3 1 9 1 4 1 1 2 7 5 4 C A 18 7'0
6 31 4-8 0-1 0-1 1 5 3 1 3 4 2 8 5 4 PF A 18 6'9
13 31 4-15 2-3 0-0 0 2 6 2 3 2 0 10 5 5 SF A 19 6'0
30 31 15-22 3-4 7-9 1 3 4 2 1 2 3 40 4 4 SG B+ 19 6'1
14 29 10-14 1-2 2-6 0 2 8 4 1 2 2 23 5 4 PG A- 19 6'2
23 26 3-7 0-1 3-5 1 3 2 4 1 3 3 9 3 4 C C+ 18 6'11
43 26 1-5 0-0 3-3 1 2 3 5 0 2 3 5 4 3 C B+ 18 7'1

Player 40 (51957521)How is this player 6'0"? I'm not upset about it, but is scouting height not an exact science?
Player 13 (51957544)HOw is this player an Allstar with a 5 star potential?
The other thing, I scouted the draft picks before me, and NO ONE had drafted a 6'0" PG with 4 star potential. So where did this pick go?

I tried and tried to format that it was a copy and paste from Notepad

I've noticed this in the past, thats why this season I decided to document, the oddities, or atrocities, that have been happening.

anything is possible, however I distinctly went and hit to resubmit it, to make sure that is what I got.

draft was funnier when players didn't have a potential. this made every player trainable, except the ones whose skillset was just terrible
