Slower tactics itself should give fewer possesions for both teams i.e. it should slow down the game. Apart of TOs, rebounds etc. I understand more passes means more turnovers often.

Was my sentence really that difficult to understand? I suppose I should have written:

Furthermore, Pericle's team had fewer field goal attempts presumably because motion, the offensive tactic employed, is slower paced than run and gun which was the (winning) tactic employed by his opponent.

Anyway, it's sour grapes by a guy who lost a tough game because his OF was inept, his PG couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, and the other team shot better and more frequently and created more turnovers.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

I guess he's trying to say there's a common view in the Italian community on this match.

Most people think that this should have been won by Pericle, just because he had 2 full levels above his opponent OD. At the same time the rating of his opponent attack against the appropriate defense was just about the same.

If the ratings rise thanks to the mots by a fixed percentage the opponent should be even in a worse situation.

If you take a look at the shoots, 3pt shots have been 36 for pericle's team, vs 31 for his opponent.

Still, his opponent shoot with 50% from the field, despite being 2 full levels behind in inside attack.

He is overreacting that's for sure. But he turned ball over 8 times more than his opponent but rebounded 6 balls more than his opponent. I don't see how he had 10 shots less (I understand it is not always exact and that he shut more FTs but still). Although he played slower tactic it still should be attack-defense-attack-defense influenced by Tos, Rebs, (jump balls - didn't see any so far) and end of quarters. I didn't notice any team rebounding.

It looks like everything should be in ranings (both team and matchup) including home court advantage, enthusiasm, tactics. So it don't really see how the winner is (clearly) better. I think th random effect took its toll - which is not really a bad thing, there is a need to have some.

Maybe shot clock violations are not counte in the sum of the teams turnovers?!

Well, apparently this game just taught us that it might be a pretty bad idea to play a slow-down tactic with crappy offensive flow.

I'm sorry, but that really hasn't anything to do with opponent shots percentage.

I really cannot see how can someone shoot with 50% when 2 levels behind before adding in the mots bonus.

If mots gives just a 10% bonus, that's almost one full level added.

Can you link some teams with good offensive flow playing slow tactics?
