I would assume Odom would be happy, he doesn't want to leave Kim and LA. The people that should be unhappy are the fans in New Orleans. Getting Lamar Odom, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, and Goran Dragic for Paul would be a fantastic outcome especially compared to being like Cleveland or Toronto and geting nothing for Lebron and Bosh or even Denver who got lots of bodies but who good for Melo?
The league apparently killed the deal because so many owners were crying at the thought of the Lakers being able to assemble teir own big three of CP3, Kobe and Dwight. A scary combination hey?

lol why did they reup Oden at such a expensive price, they could have made a lower offer...
gordon isnt even allstar calibre lol...
blake = too much hype... people are thinking he is the best PF of the league already... after Davis was traded, all his eye catching oops were gone and his defense leaves a lot to be desired. He is a solid scorer and rebounder but he just does it in flashy way, thats all.

It's to maintain Oden as a restricted free agent.
As injury prone he has been... when he was on the court, despite his fouling problems, he was one of the most productive players in the NBA. I think he was 20+ PER wasn't he? That's memory though, may have been "only" 18+.
Someone that can do that is worth a gamble on, especially when they're 7 feet tall.

But that is the risk. Do you want to have 20% of your team's salaries sitting on the sideline in civvies season after season? He is a top kid, been very positive despite everything, was quite productive on the court but Portland has to face two horrid possibilities.
1) They keep him and he keeps on being injured and is a drain on the team forever.
2) They let him go for nothing and he pops up somewhere productive and healthy and becomes a top five center in the league. How would the GM face the fans after that?

its like a mini version of not drafting jordan and drafted Olajuwan....
but wait, Olajuwan was one of the best center of all time and Oden's best known accomplishment is he shot 60% from the free throw line with his left hand....

I'd rather C.T against you for some enjoyment before the ASW :D.
Mutual CT anyone? :D
I certainly wouldnt want to dissapoint the Fatboy
Will make it hard to back up against Zazz but a wins a win and its not going to happen everytime that I play the Fatboy, that I'm blessed to have a home court advantage and the duffman being out injured
