Expenses Revenue
Player Salaries: $ 46 539 Attendance: $ 98 344
Staff Salaries: $ 20 137 Merchandise: $ 28 734
Scouting: $ 10 000 TV Contract: $ 58 174
Total: $ 76 676 Total: $ 185 252

My actual Player salaries are much under $35,000 but the Salary floor is $46,539. I am just going to do enough to get to Div III and stay there but I am not going to try and be competitive until a couple of seasons in, just letting my Money raise.

I am quite surprised that I am making more that $100,000 in profit in Div IV BUT I have learn't alot more from when I first started playing.

And Struggle @Ranga (what is this twitter). I would say that being 4th in your 1st or 2nd season in Div II is pretty frickin good

I totally agree I think I should be making a lot more as well. Trouble is I have 5 players I like & want to keep for next season when I am trying again, Presley 44, Diakite 25, Facoura 24, Harris 20 & Mokitimi 19. That is $132 of my total $166. Then staff & scouting are above league average takes my costs to close to average. Merchandise is also average, why don't my fans want a "Wagadugu Hippopotamuses National Tournament Top 16" souveneer t-shirt? Rad_Ranga you may be 4th 3 games clear but you are in a very weak conference, if in the other 1 you would be 6th. If I was in the other conference here even with this tanking team I would be 3rd.

I can't say this season has been a great success. Training my 3 PGs at C has been slow & they have only had about 3-4 pops each. I couldn't lose enough games to get the 1 decent player in the draft. I will only have about $2 million to play with next season. On the other hand if I had gone for it I would have no money & still fallen short against the top 2 teams & I couldn't have done the tricky training which will make my 3 guys better value forever.

Just curious, what centre based skills do you require for your pg's?

Hey tilley,

Do you mean what primaries we want for a pg? Or what inside skills we would like on our pg?

And damn the economic update hurts

Just wondering what skills Hippo was training at C for his PG's.

All of them. Best so far is Inside Def.: prominent or Rebounding: proficient but I confess each of the 3 of them has a weakness. It was a good week this week with 5 pops total :)

Biggest game of the season tonight.

training guards in big skills is a slow, boring process, but pays off BIG dividends at the end of the journey..

there are 2 schools of thought on training smalls in big skills

1) do it in their first season or 2, as they develop quicker because of their age.

2) train small skills first, and rely on elastic band effect to get pops!

Another option, could be to play your guards at SF/PF and train 1 on 1... not sure how effective it is for smalls, but have heard that training program is good for all around skills!

LOL, did Bainsy forget to set a lineup tonight? Was going to say that you're in a situation where Hippos were last season. Congrats you made it out this time. Oh man looks like next season the III.12 forum is gonna be quiet :P
