That sounds like the way to go mate, I might have to start chopping away at my staff

I have already started doing that with enthusiasm - the games I thought I could win (ie. Boganators) I set to Crunch and the games against the teams ranked 1-5 or so I was gonna set to TIE and just take it like a b*tch hahaha

Hey mate, I didnt realise the BIG 8 was harder than the GREAT 8!

I think I'll just try to get the best I can our of my team this season and hopefully I'm still here talking to you guys next season lol

The Big 8 is much stronger than the Great 8 mate, other than myself and Be high and Sammy Dog who is starting to come to the ball game it's not much hype. I would look at waiting until the end of the season and assessing who you are going to be playing, then buy a seasoned vet to help you stay in the league, for a small amount of money you will keep your spot and you will have a position filled that you don't have now for a few more, assuming you get a 30/31 yr old.

The other comment, with you not filling your arena lower your prices slightly and increase your arena size. Long term it will save you money as you won't have to upgrade arena and buy players at the same time. Don't take my word as gospel of course, pick what tactics work for you as all the other guys do too. Just offering a different perspective.

ahhhh a loss tonite for me.

time to set tactics for the rivalry match with the Dreamers... he does appear to be tanking. however being rivals he will definitely try win. But to what end? CT? do i play outside despite the presence of Chan? my loss tonite and poor outside performance has made me hesitant to do so. even with the Dreamers losing Robinot they can still be devastating outside. then what enthusiasm to put in? is normal required to beat the depleted dreamers? or will TIE cut it even if Skyhook CT's?

As does the Glory v CT Towers who i am a little surprised are bottom

Sammy v Be High will also be crucial in deciding a home court playoff game

C-webs v Zed's also looks a tight affair. Can C-web stop Pabich??? not sure they can

1) After the PL game tonite, i almost expect Ranga to hit the reset button... I would expect to see Spartans take the win here.

2) Glory have a well rounded roster, and i expect them to destroy Crunch Towers

3) Sammy is doing a much better job off the court than Be High... I would expect a blow out here...

4) C-web cant stop Plabich, but should win every other position.. if plabich gets in the zone, zed's will take it..

Stazzy.. take a look at the Great 8 standings.. In the big 8, i am 6th, in the great 8 i would be 4th with current standings..

spend a bit more time on our game and less on the others, because they are some awful statements and i agree with 0 of them

Hate to agree Dreamy but your off the mark I reckon..

Be high has proved that he has some worth even with his ol' roster, will do Sammy Dog because SDog hasn't got his stuff in order. I think Ranga will be fine against Sparta as I don't expect Capitan Ranga to sell for the specified price. The others? Well who knows, CRE is no longer CT towers, seems to be a bit more strategic but to what end..

Come on Great 8, pull your teams together, this is getting embarrassing! :p

fair enuff, i think maybe i got a bit excited with some comments. :D

1) I have no doubt Ranga will shift his focus to training, probably knowing he cant beat Beasts.. If he does, then he might sacrifice results to ensure his players get the training he wants. If Ranga decides to put training ahead of results, then i think Spartans could get the win, that is all i meant, i do not for 1 second think the spartans can beat the rangas, or come close to them, in an environment where both teams fielded their best teams and went all out for the W. If Ranga plays to win, he will destroy them...

2) Sammy vs Be High may not be a blow out, but Sammy is doing a far superior job off the court.. Remember, Be High has been in this league for 7 seasons, Sammy has been in BB for 3 seasons... Sammy has players under 20 getting trained, Be High has noone on roster younger than 24, and he isnt even getting trained, yet they are separated by %

3) By saying Glory have a well rounded roster, i simply mean that he lacks a superstar player.. I never said his players were good, just meant all his positions are covered by players on similar salaries... Glory's primary issue is, all his players are 32+. needs to fix that ASAP and get some trainees going before those skills hit the skids....

4) C-web - sorry i think i looked at wrong roster there... I think i looked at CT.... But zed should prolly beat C-web, i am surprised C-web is ahead of Zed and CT...

So again, i concede i was a bit excited on some points..

i think outside of Blaze, the great 8 is 90% at div 4 level, with 1 or 2 rare exceptions, aka Plabich :D

not saying the dreamers are any better than any side here, we are definately at the bottom end, but i am comfortable with, and i think with the 3 trainees we have, long term we are in a decent position :D

Pabich is injured so Zed's have Gallot and not much else so C-webs should win. be close but should win.

When you say seasoned vet, what sort of wage are we talking? 15, 20, 25k or more? Also, would you say it would be more advantageous to pick an inside or perimeter player? Is it really only dependant on your matchup and specific match tactics or does the match engine favour any particular position?

As for the arena, I've set much lower prices for the upcoming change, although I don't think my ladder position is going to have them coming in their droves lol

I guess I'll be splitting my expenditure between scouting and arena development, I still consider the scouting important to my cause, I need to give myself the best possible chance at snagging a quality trainee.

you are right. do not neglect your scouting. if in the even you go down you want to have made the most out of your draft position.

a couple of 15k players would get you through relegation i'd say. maybe 20-25 k if they are bigs if you have the money because they are cheaper on the TL. if you get 2 bigs you can plat Look Inside pretty effectively with an alrite passing pg. if you are tight on cash definitely go inside because as i have found out it cost serious money for good guards.

but i guess you can kind of tailor your purchases to fit your opposition if you know early enough who is going to finish 6th on the other side.
