The 3 of you have been very involved in the offsite fourm in the discussion boards, and on the USA chat as well. Give a couple of examples where you had interaction with the community and/or a current NT coach (current at the time, not just with Rambo or myself) where you felt your input was greatly valued, and even bonded you to the community in some way. Also, cite an example or two where your input caused some friction or you you kind of felt alone in your opinion.

. . . . . Unless you post something dumb, I think everyone's opinion is "greatly valued."

That certainly won't change. We could use a lot more posting about tactics. I've been

active on the offsite for awhile, and at no point did I ever say to myself, "Wow, I feel

bonded to the community," but I've certainly felt more and more comfortable each

week. I guess an example would be season 16 worlds for the NT. About 15 minutes

before the lineups were locked against Uruguay, I posted that we should start Logsdon

in 9GS instead of blanking PG-SF because I thought he should play more minutes than

the 26 or so the GE would play him. We won that game in overtime by 2, and Logsdon

did really well. Seemed like a good suggestion, but who knows what happens if we

blank PG-SF. Maybe the same result, maybe even better. I don't think anyone really

cares who made the suggestion.

. . . . . I also don't think anyone's input "causes friction." The U21 coach or NT coach

may disagree with a suggestion, but I haven't really seen a full-fledged argument

(save a week ago when Owens was sold). The most friction I had with Rambo

last season was for the Championship game, about an hour before the game on chat:

Me: "Rambo, I really don't like starting B-Rod in this game. I think we'll lose

the SF matchup badly. We should start Brown, Carlson, Goddard.." (I tried everyone..)

Rambo: "Not gonna happen..."

Me: "Ok."

. . . . . Would my suggestion have worked? Maybe, who knows. We went with what

Rambo wanted, and we won Worlds, so our discussion was irrelevant.

Ah $%!&... you're right.

I have an explanation for that. Freshmen year of high school my English teacher was a former playboy model. As a 14 year old boy hitting puberty, was I really going to learn anything in that class? Sophomore year English was first period. I honestly believe no high school or college student learns anything at that hour. Junior year English was more about plays than anything else. That's probably the root of my not indenting the quotes. Senior year it was the teachers last year cause he was retiring. He didn't give a...

Exactly, which means you didn't READ the rules....

Now for a question to the candidates.

Using last season's players pool and skills at the end of the season. If all players were in 9GS give me your ideal lineup if we were to go RnG and your ideal lineup if we were going LI. You can use all S17 players regardless if they ever got called up. Assume we are going m2m against a team that was running a neutral offense.

Thanks Oriole.

I'm a bit at a loss as to who to vote for still. All three guys have been active and involved on the offsite and have pretty similar ideas. A change from last season's NT election in which there was a clear choice of differing styles and experience. Honestly, I figure USA can't go far wrong with any of the three.

Basically what I'm saying is, let the cash bribes begin!

I'm in the same boat. They all seem to be fine and similar choices. I have no clue who to vote for so I haven't yet.

I somewhat agree, however I have cast my vote, BUT am actively watching the thread and could change my vote before the deadline.

I'd probably pick the same. If our bigs were on more equal level I probably would have put someone with better rebounding in than Mike Merril, but since he was just so dominant he had to start. His 7 passing is nice in a R@G though.

Also I'd just like to point out that both of us would have used specific players most effective inR@G, and specific players most effective in LI. AKA niche players would have been used if we ever went R@G this year since the players we used in LI would not be able to score in a R@G. Luther was a 12/9 player(A LI PG), J-Brown was, well Jimmie Brown so he would have played regardless of what we ran, and B-Rod was 11/7 JS/JR(Our LI SF).

So my ideas are not extreme and designed to fail. They've been used some in the past, and as you can see here, would have been used if we went R@G last season.
