ok I have just had a quick glance at the U21 teams we will be up against. captfalafel has been scouting and for fun send me loads off players with there salaries etc. The average is about 15-20k, with 2 or 3 above that. One is 60k.

Now have a look at the squads our oppents have. just have for fun a look at the finnish, bosnian, swedish and even the andorran squad... They only have 24 active users, but I was already scared off them since basketball is such a big sport in Spain. Oooh and dont forget to have a peek at the germans. are you convinced we can beat them?? Not even to mention the dutch who are currently ranked in the top 10, havent picked their players yet. If we can win 2 or 3 games we did great. So if you guys expect more from me, than I suggest you place your votes on someone else. I have taken 1 young guy on board and will sacrifice my own team performances for him, but he wont be ready for another 3 seasons. We definatelly need 10 more players to be trained, so I do hope there will be more players to take one or two english youngsters on board and train them. I cant expect this from you, because I am fully aware this would hurt peoples team performances. But asking people to do so, doesnt harm anyon. So dont expect me to achieve miracles with the current crop off players and the draw we got.

Since the debate has been stopped for more than a day, I'd like to make a few questions to you:

1st: How will you divide your staff teams ( by functions)?

2nd: You said you would select 12-14 players in the begining. How many of each position will you select( aproximately)?

PS: Are you still going to use the 18 year old players? Because with them, it would be almost impossible to win 3 games

I'd really like to know your answers. Since you will be the NT coach ( at least everyone here said that would vote for you), you shouldn't be afraid of answering this. These are only easy questions for a NT coach. If you can't answer this, then it's because you are not ready for this. So I would like to know what would you answer to the questions I made

So now I can't become a candidate? It's too late, right?

Even if you become a candidate now, you wouldn't deserve to win. Someone who'd care about this would have made the apply before.

@Astragoth: Still waiting for the answers

i have a different opinion to our portugese friends, the best candidate should win. So if you feel you are the best candidate, I would say, write a speech, post it and show everyone you are the best coach. If you can show this, I am sure you will win the voting...

I'm, too, have the opinion that the best should win. But the best should be an interested candidate. And an interested candidate should have prepared this candidature long ago. That's why I said that

PS: A good candidate would also answer every question asked to him. I'm sick of the "I'll only answer questions asked by the english comunity". In my opinion, that's xenophobism

Vasco, don't spoil your impressive record of contributing good ideas by playing the xenophobia card - there are two reasons I can think of for Astragoth not answering your questions, and neither of them have anything to do with you being Portuguese. Firstly, he might be taking the view that he'll only answer questions posed by people who actually have a vote in the election. Secondly he might decide not to answer questions from rival candidates - in some online games I play NT election rules actually bar candidates from asking each other questions because it can get very confrontational.

In this case, what I recall is that Astragoth did make some efforts to engage in your discussions, but not sufficiently to your satisfaction, and then announced that he wouldn't do so any more because the conversation had become too heated and not really conducive to enabling cool headed decision-making by the voters. I can understand why this annoys you, but I think goading him about it is really counter-productive, and I suggest you stop.

For the record, I agree with you about the late-coming Italian. Unless he's got a really, really good reason for only turning up here after the official closing date, then I'd much rather have someone else, someone who is committed enough to the cause of the England U21 to engage with the community in advance of the elections, like you did, or someone who is actually part of that community already for all its weaknesses, like Astragoth.

Edited: Because it is xenophobia, not xenophobism. Grammar police are on the beat.
