wow wee spend a week away from the forums and look what you miss.

As for merch i think i am dragging down the average big time. With Astaman finally of the Indo team and no gun Aussies i am at a lowly 60k which hurts.

I think i might struggle to hang on this year. Crappy injuries have cost me early on but hopefully i can bank some coin, get my shit together and win a few games

It always amazes me when I see some of the "unbeatable" players for sale. Last season Fang Yao Zhong (8197187) was 7th in MVP voting and was a force to be reconed with. Now I see him for sale and naturally compare him to my big men. Well the thing is Olli Krentschker just slaughteres him in almost everything. Primaries, TSP, scoring ability just isn't even in the same universe. The one thing that Fang has is the mysterious shot blocking skill very high but he only averaged 1.6 blocks per game last season anyway. It is cool when you realise there is more to the game than you already knew. On paper Olli just humiliates Fang, its in the + 5- 15 ballpark range in both offensive skills and defensive skills (excluding the SB) but we all know how effective Fang was. Bobby Locke is a very good and experienced manager and obviously knows things that I don't. Very interesting.

I have the same max bbstat as the #25 team in the entire world the Wombats and I see some key players in respectable game shape while my top scorers are proficient. Looks like the cup game this week has the potential to be very interesting.

It may be 157 a piece but you failed to mention one very important aspect.
Your oppoents. Chumunga or abigfishy.

I doubt you will get 157 playing against chumunga, but a few additional purchases could change that. =p

I don't think your opponents matter otherwise everyone would have their best rating against CROCKERS or Naker or a bot in a cup match which they don't. It is a measure of your team's performance only.

You pulled those ratings in a private league match compared to a league match. I can pull my max ratings and it will be most likely in a B3 match so it's not the best indicator.

If they played naker or crockers or div4 cup guys they would be playing TIE.
There is a world of difference between TIE and normal. You would also pull better ratings with HCA.

If I can pull the same bbstat as you when I'm having game shape issues, I can live with that ;)

Laumianskias has been in average gameshape, and manfrotto in ressy, so I haven't began to see what my team can do yet.

Plus hca can be a bitch :p

You guys are welcome to your opinions but here are the facts. All these other teams that also play in the PL do not have a PL game as their best even if they played Goldfish, Titans, Moordtij Magick or whoever. If your arguments were true how could that possibly be?

mllama - your game shape issues are precicely one of the things that excite me and make me wonder if I should have a go. If the game was at my court I wouldn't even be thinking about it.

Yeah, this hasn't come at the best time for me (though better than last week, when my GS was really up the crapper). But I'm still confident enough, and the game against Chum wasn't my best lineup - inserting my new SG ahead of Goodall would give me better ratings, especially as he is in better GS.

I'm looking forward to seeing what my team puts out when I get them in proficient - I expected to struggle a bit when I replaced a 200K SG with a 50K one, but now I'm not so sure, especially since I've upgraded my big man division since last season.

For what its worth, the randomness of the gameshape system really grates me sometimes. Exhibit A:

Krentscker - minutes in first week: 85, 2nd: 77, 3rd: 73 - net result - proficient gameshape

Laumianskas - minutes in first week: 76, 2nd: 85, 3rd: 73 - net result - respectable gameshape (and was in average shape after the first and second weeks)

I have a massage doc, and trained gameshape after the second week as well. BB gameshape can go get stuffed.

(and yes, I'm well aware of what the ideal minutes are, and that he was probably overplayed, especially in week 2. I just feel like ranting, well, because I can)
