Just make a search on the TL for C's with 7-4 JS/JR and then another one for C's with 8-2 or even 9-2..And see their 3pt percentages..

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

and how many 3pointers do they take per game? 1 perhaps, at most 2. But they take many midrange JS attempts. SO while yes, their percentages from the perimeter are nice, they play less of a role than their improved JS.

So you don't think that JR plays a role on midrange jumpers?

Did I say that? No. But it does play a way smaller role than for the 3pointers. I'd rather want to improve my Cs midrange shot more than his 3, simply because he'll take quite some of the former, but very few of the latter.

But in order to be effective from mid range,he needs at least a 4 or 5 in JR..Unless you're facing atrocious OD opponents... But it's not gonna be like that all the time.

I'd say that a 9/2 JS/JR C will be quite effective from mid-range, at least as much so as a 7/4 - but he'll take less training in general. JR training for Cs is extremely hard to do with relatively little marginal value. That's not to say that I'd never consider such a player as a C, and if I had the choice I would take the player with the higher JR, but I probably wouldn't train it for Cs - simply because the marginal gain isn't worth it.

For me JR is nice to have, but especially on the C's marginal. I would rate good FT's higher than the JR. How many 3pt's a C will get anyway? If i have 2 same C's but one has more JR, i will go with him, but on my priorities is very low..

Now if we are talking about a PF, then yes has more value but if a player has everything that i like except JR, it will not stop me from buying him.

if you have a C with resp JR, he will start taking a lot more 3s... under 7, they will stick to midrange even when they play at PF.
