I agree. For example, look at this guy from my league:

(11994617)

35 PPG in 40 minutes of play and previous season, 39 PPG in 35 minutes of play with only Average Game shape and 16k wage!

Other facts: Owner always plays Patient and surronds his scorer with scrubs. It also helps his top scorer averages less than 1 assist per game, so this makes him a ballhog. There you have your Carmelo Anthony.

haha

I totally agreed with that comment based on just watching Carmelo, but just checked his stats, he has a career average of 3.1 assists per game.

Was quite surprised really

Wtf? He spent nearly his whole career up to this point with the Nuggets.

As a Nuggets fan, I can assure you that Melo is a good passer. When done right, running isos for him is a fantastic weapon, because he can be a deadly scorer and find the open man.
However, he has a tendency to try to do too much on his own, but it's also the coach's responsibility to play a balanced style and not just isos.

Not sure was that has to do with jump range though, because that's one of Melo's weak points. ;)

Excluding jokes, I mean that also SB is a skill that is quite expensive and as for JR maybe having a lvl 20 is not the best choice but of course I opened this thread to listen what do you think and to discuss about "numbers"

Here again I read SB is quite expensive, and still I haven't seen this in my players.

I had 2 centers a few seasons ago. 1 I realy liked because his SB is his highest skill, 1 I alos liked, but was lacking SB, but I couldn't find a better fish at that time, his highest skill was rebounding.
the first cost me about 50k/week, the second 70k/week. In performance on the field I could't realy see which was the better. Game shape is so important in the game, the one with highest shape was performing best.

Later I sold the one with lower blocking, and kept the one with higher blocking. I pay LESS (even though I often read SB is expensive) and my lpayer performs good.

I always have valued SB in this game, even before the BBs altered it to improve it. I have been preaching for SB ever since I got a little experience playing this game, yet, I see little result.
Some thoughts and "truths" which can be read in the forums are realy persistent.

But I don't mind ofcourse. If enough people keep saying blocking is not worth it's money, maybe Charles will even make it better and cheaper still, which makes my team better, for less money, all they while the mob keeps disliking it, and don't want to use it. ;รพ

As for JR, it might work the same as for FT: up to a certain level there is decent improvement, but then each skill-up has a very small effect. Quite possible this is the same for all the skills...

Talking about SB that in my mind works similar to JR, this is not expensive if the combinations of the other skills is not so high but if you've a big man completed by high SB skill his salary is really expensive and also in this case I think we have to find the best compromise between lvl of skill and salary. I don't know how SB can improve your player but for sure in case of great player SB has a big impact in the salary and that's easy to see in the TL ;)
