Saturday Night Main Event!

We have some games worthy of attention.

1st lets start with Lebron Slam Down visit the Violatorz. Both teams are undefeated, that being said, the only team either has faced was the IXLOS Sabres, who are coming into their own. 3 gravy Bot teams and a home wins agains the Sabres, are nothing to brag about. But these teams do have some history, so that alone, makes for an Main Event attraction. LSD, has knocked out the Violatorz in each of the last 2 seasons. My money is on LSD tonight, since the Violatorz, got rid of maybe, their best weapon and replaced him with a younger trainee. I look for the Violatorz to make a play later in the season, since he can coast to playoff spot.

The other game of attention on the undercard.

Something Epic goes to the Clinic to face the only other undefeated team, the oo Pwnstarz oo. Last time they played, the Pwners, shut Epic down in the 4th quarter, eliminating them from their chance at promoting. Should be interesting. That 25k a week Small Forward has not payed off yet.

The 1st game of the undercard.

Wocerster Buckeyes vs Hammersaraus Rex. Both of these teams are trying to stay in the playoff hunt. Last season the Buckeyes swept the Dinos. Can they do it again?

Results from Saturday Night Main Event!

On the undercard, Hammersaraus Rex front court was just too much for the Wocerster Buckeyes. Chuck Thibodeau had a 21 point 12 rebound, double-double. Coupled with the fact, that the Buckeyes could throw the ball in to the ocean from a boat. Shooting just 3 of 27, from the arc.

Final Score
Worcerster Buckeyes - 81
Hammersaurus Rex -- 101

Next up, the oo Pwnstarz oo, jumped out to a quick a 7 point lead, in the 1st min of the game. Causing Something Epic to use a time out, in the 1st min. They never looked back. Shooting a whopping .551%, led by Yiorgos Panoulias's 37 points. That wasn't event he big story. Riccardo Striano had a 12/15/11 triple-double!

Final Score
Something Epic -- 74
oo Pwnstarz oo - 103

The Main Event. I don't know many words to use to describe this. It may only look a 17 point drubbing, but it was actually much worse. When you consider the efforts involved. Only 1 team thought the game was worth playing, and they lost. Ouch! Jasper Hail, for L.S.D. had his typical solid night, 29 points, 18 boards dub-dub. Unfortunately, He was the only who felt the need to play. New addition to the Viotorlaz, Xoan V. Zayas, preformed splendidly. Making 75% of his shots, including 4 of 5 from Downtown. Finishing up with 24 points, 6 boards, and 3 steals. Well done, Violatorz. Well done.

Final Score
L.S.D. ----- 78
Violatorz -- 95

Other notes from Saturday's games.. NBA Swagger rebounded from their lone lose, with a blowout road win to a bot. C. Ljungstad had a 23 point, 11 rebound night, in just under a half of play..... IXLOS Sabers, continue looking good, with the easy part of the schedule on the way. Look for them to get those easy wins. C. Mora Sibaja, had a 23 point, 20 rebound, 3 block game.....Battle of the Bots, went to the Weed Rollers over Fort Wayne Energy.....Captain Morgan, flexed his muscle against new bot, la lakers. I'm telling you watch out for these hard drinkers. The Capt. is putting together a very nice team....Seattle Legends, SG Summers put 49 points in their win over the Moneyhoes, who's PG. Mahurkar also put up 40 points!

That LSD/VIO game was an eye opener. LSD's offense is top in the league but their weak defense leaves them vulnerable. This achille's heel will continue to see them give up big runs and big numbers to good players. Now that Violatorz got some O, they look to be one of the teams to beat. I have them taking their road game tonight against NBA Swag.

It will be interesting to see what happens when interconference play begins. Props to the G8 for having 4 of the top 5 teams in the league (as of Week 3)!

Saturday Nights Main Event

The undercard was rather light this week, only 1 other "interesting" game.

Warm up game, Hammersaraus Rex ventured to Puerto Rico, to face Captain Morgans. Both teams sporting identical records, 4-2, and trying to stay in the playoff. Any 1 lose could prove devastating to either's playoff hopes. Hammersaurus Rex put in a solid 1st half, possessing the lead for nearly all the 1st half. Unfortunately, could only manage 2 points in the first 7 and half minutes of the 3rd quarter. This allowed Captain Morgans to slowly build a lead, they would never relenquish.

Final Score
Hammersaurus Rex -- 79
Captain Morgan ------ 90

The Main Event, featured 2 of the 3 teams trying to wrangle control of the Big 8. This is Lebron Slam Down's 2nd week in the Main Event, hosting NBA swaggers. A strange game to say the least. Both teams star PF, were in foul trouble early. Never letting the players to find their groove. Jasper Hail, fouled out, with a double/double, but only went 1 of 5 from the floor. Since this game was marred by so many fouls, he was able to go 11 for 12 from the, ahem, charity stripe. (I think the refs were betting on this game). A tight first half, only gave way to the Swags in the 3rd quarter. Even without their, 21k p.w., player they were able to use their perimeter game to create a 20 point lead. L.S.D. fought back, but couldn't get the lead to under 10 points.

Final Score
NBA swagg -- 115
L.S.D. -------- 100

Other Notes.......Something Epic cruised past Seattle Legends. League leading rebounder, Chas Foreman had a dub/dub.....IXLOS Sabres brought their win streak up to 4 games against the Weed rollers. Longest win streak in the Big 8....Expansion team, NY Nightmare fell to UGNC, in their inaugural game...Violatorz sufficating defense, helped them get back into the win column with a crushing over Team Jazz....Moneyhoes, left broke and busted after the oo Pwnstarz oo, took the game, their money, and hos! League leading scorer, Yiorgos Panoulias, finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists (bolded for Mix :P in 28 mins of play.... Wocerster Buckeyes put one on the la_lakers, with their "buck"eyes closed.

KUDOS to the mighty Panoulias. In the crosshairs of the league's worst defense, he gets all Nash-y. Zero nail biters/100% pillow biters this weekend.

Interconference is at hand. Can the formidable G8 stand strongest post YD?!

haha Pillow biting. Love it.

I'll be doing some interleauge match-up posts on what games we should look forward to. As well as a Tuesday night matchup post. I enjoy writing them.

Having just completed conference play, we are about to do inter-conference play.

The story so far. In the Big 8, we've watched NBA Swagger, go from a 7-13 (since taking over last season) to a threat to promote, via a big Free Agency spending spree. NBA Swagger sits 6-1 sport the largest point differential. Of course it helps when all the victories are against bots. The lone blemish came at the hands of another new comer as well (season 16 too) IXLOS Sabres. The Sabres have also done a lot of roster shuffling and it has paid off. Only losing 2 road games to the Big 8 perennial powers, the Violatorz and L.S.D. Those 2 teams are doing usual, fighting atop the Big 8 leader boards.

I'd like to welcome new team NY Nightmare. I see he is actively preparing his team.

Over in the Great 8, oo Pwnstarz oo, remain the only undefeated team in the League. Captain Morgans has come around nicely. They are going to threating Something Epic for home court advantage, I think. The last playoff spot is gonna come down to Hammersaurus Rex and Wocerster Buckeyes. Should be a compelling 15 games to go.

Good write up, PwN. Concerning NBA Swag, their squad has taken wins over Violatorz and LSD respectively. They also have six players listed in V.65's league leaders http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/381/stats.aspx. Those accomplishments are worthy of respect.
