I lost in Domican Republic against a user with 46 days experience and a whopping single vote, too. I guess it´s the normal way of the things to some degree - if the community isnt interested in "help" from a gamepoint view, there is no response to offering it. I doubt that´s a problem though. If there is no interest in voting, they don´t care a whole lot, so who´s losing anything? An NT coach in the end is "for the sake of the nation" he´s working for, isnt he?

I think the biggest misconception here is that the (local) community is the main factor for the NTs.

In fact, from my point of view in smaller countries the managers that own the NT players are among those who have the highest interest in the national team of their players. They should get involved to a certain degree too (very very difficult, I know).

I hope everybody understands what I am trying to say.

Although I see where you are coming from, I still don´t join your position. I don´t want to stress any IRL coincidences, but the economical impact of NT things is too big that the people getting the money should make the call. As annoying as it is to lose an election, maybe a foreign coach trying to get elected should spend more time with the country he´s applying for (outside the NT elections forum and time). When trying to be there as maybe a menthor or someone who is PRESENT, and who offers advice and help (if needed), you will be recognized more and easily get the necessary (two) votes. In addition, small(ish) countries would most likely flourish when getting experienced help.

If you ever worked as a scout or whatever you know that maybe 2 out of 10 answer ingame messages and maybe 15 out of hundred take a look at the forums every now and then, so getting in touch with the users from micronations might not be that easy, especially if there is a possible language barrier. If you are running for NT its not allowed to send ingame messages anyway, so thats another obstacle.

Easier way would be to create a team in that country and vote yourself with that second account (I guess thats "best practice" nowadays in many small countries anyway). At least the increasing numbers of users around start of offseason could have something to do with that (besides grabbing young players from the draft and dumping them on the market).

Its a complicated topic, so I know that there are many aspects that we have to consider - I am not demanding any immediate changes, but we should think about possible changes that make NTs even more fun.

Well, in case you make a 2nd account you might get caught by us and thrown out of the game completely - is that what you want? ;)

I do agree that some concept changes might be necessary. I don´t think a radical change should be necessary, but some "great" idea, the "spark" how to handle things is still missing ...

Its not what I want to do, but I think it is pretty clear that this happens quite often and I have registered such a behaviour in at least two cases already.

I wonder what country that was?

I know of another election where there were a couple of strong candidates. There were only eight managers who voted but they guy who won didn't have a speech or participate in the debate. How do you win an election like that and get three people to vote for you without even a speech?

Even more amazing another candidate who had no speech and wasn't in the debate also got three votes despite having no qualifications, being a newish team, playing in a low league in a nation that does not even speak the correct language. Why would ANYONE have voted for him?
