I've been staring at the dang team name of yours for many seasons, and I've never understood what it means. Care to elaborate?

Rik Smits is Dutch.
The Dutch wear Clogs.
So the team is named in honor of his Clogs.

The fact that I ended up training a bunch of big men who thought they were perimeter scorers was just a fortuitous coincidence.

(And the arena name is basically "splinter foot" translated into Dutch. Well, Dutch is a made up language anyhow, so I added a bunch of letters they typically use when making up their words).
