People using FCP often use the worst offensive tactic to go with it and it looks like it sucks and could never work.

I'd say Gullyfoyle is having reasonable success in D1 and was runner-up in the cup by employing that tactic almost every game and having a middle-of-the-pack payroll.

I suggest you ask directly to managers who have used this tactic extensively and ignore all the others who are just talking based on assumptions having never tried to use this tactic in a competitive environment (ie. not to abuse lesser teams in order to boost their PD).

Besides when talking about FCP, most people are really talking about R&G+FCP...

So uh.. what is the "proper" way to execute this strategy. For uh... reasons.

Correct strategy for using full court press.

1) Ignore most forum users.

2) Already have or somehow acquire the players with the skillset you need.

3) Train stamina. Read point one again so you can forget that you've been told not to train stamina to a high level because its "bad".

4) Train stamina. (I'm not convinced people will notice if I only say it once.)

5) Fcp is a defensive strategy but I'll mention offence anyway, some people seem interested in it. Choose your offence in the same way you always have. You might be told that using a fast pace offence can't be used with fcp. If anyone does say that, go back to point one.

Stamina doesn't just influence FCP. but it's an entegral part of it. i've been told that you need decent OD on all your players, but i haven't been presented with evidence on that yet (i'm talking about high OD lvls on PF & C, as in double digit numbers)

but other than that, Gully is pretty right about this post

Just wanted to add that most people play R&G-FCP against much weaker teams, because this is the kind of combination you play if you can hit 3s at a good clip and you can run up the score before stamina is going to hurt you.
The problem with using R&G-FCP against a good team is not really stamina or not just stamina, but mostly rebounding.

Having seen a few of Gully's games this season, especially the one I lost against him:
a) FCP can hold its own again good flow although you don't get as many steals as you would otherwise. And by good flow I mean at least 15 PA in each guard spot, 14 at the SF spot and another 20 between the 2 big men (this is what I fielded). Generally higher HA. You can do your math.
b) His team typically comes back strong in the 4th quarters, which means that high enough Stamina does indeed take care of the weakness most commonly associated with FCP.

In any case there were some points made here (215971.1) although none of those guys really tried to verify their claims...

So, whose Gully? Maybe I can speak to him more about it

Hello!

I've attempted to get noticed here but apparently its not working lol.

If you check my last two seasons' games you'll see a lot of games where I use fcp. The D2 I promoted from last season was below top class though one team in my league did have near D1 salary. I promoted with salaries 70-100k lower than my previous promotion season.

In D1 this season I've survived much more comfortably than 3 seasons ago, and with around 150k less salary. The idea that fcp doesn't work seems wrong to me. Though its of course possible I'd be winning those games with mtm.

Lemonshine's points about my games, especially the one against him are valid and worth looking at, as are my earlier posts.
