To be honest I can't see many teams buying players solely for the tournament. It is a single elimination format. I wouldn't want to risk the chance of losing and being stuck with extra players and then taking a enthusiasm hit by selling them. Also, the revenue is split 50-50, it doesn't really amount to that much even for teams with big arenas.

true but the point is,

its still a tournament that should and must compete. i wouldnt mind the extra minutes so additional trainees can be given, but i would say " this is the difference of being better and good in what you do! "

This is absolutely not fair!
In 1° division I've only 2 arena income per week, while another 3!

I struggle to find an example in basketball...so allow me some leeway and pull a football example instead. It's unfair that Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan get to play in the Champions League with all the additional revenue and publicity while Derby, Osasuna and Reggina go without.

If you're the champions, you deserve it. Not to mention there is no prizemoney. And you can't factor in additional trainees because you don't know how long you are going to last against champs from all over the world. Bigger reward, better test of management skills.

We love being elitist. xD

Keep in mind that the majority of these "champs from all over the world" are teams that would struggle in the second division of countries like Italy, Spain, or US...so the teams from those "major" countries, unless they are extremely unlucky with the draw, can pretty much count on getting far into the tournament.

Well, as an example, try and compare the last official games played by the three teams playing against the italian teams (JoYo, Boston Celtics, and Springfield Drunkers), with the last official games played by these 3 teams, and see if they stand a chance.

now that you said it, id still be happy to win some games in this tourney!

its not going to be easy! i just got reminded , my last scrimmage game against a itialian team made my team look rubbish going against his 2nd and 3rd stringers.

what if he brought the starters :D

You absolutely should be happy to win (or even participate) in the tournament.

My point was that it's not true to say that, especially for the top teams, they won't have more trainess because theycan't count on more than a couple of games in the BBB.

Are you serious?? 3 home games in this comp will give at least a 600k return for 18k stadiums plus..... thats your staff paid for all season.

Downside for me is the computer loves to draw me away from home most of the time!!

Dont know if its been asked is there a shortcut to the whole fixture list... ive seen BC Toroo away to LA Lakers looks a tasty match up - any other stand out fixtures?

Therein lies the big 'if'.

If they get lucky with the draw and don't cross paths with one another. A struggling team from a new country might go far if the draw is favourable. I presonally find it refreshing to see success is being rewarded.

Well, statistically it's highly unlikely that the best teams in the tournament will play each other sooner than round 4 or 5.
It could happen to a few of them, but certainly not to lots of them.
