As the season wraps up, I put together some all-nbba award lists. I valued a mix of counting stats, player rating, team success, and player skills if I've seen them. I heavily valued games played and had an unofficial cutoff of 16-18 minimum games to be eligible, with people getting penalized for playing fewer games. Gotta be on the court to add value!
MVP: Roscoe Anderson
First Team
Guard: Alessandro Dogana (Mill City Thunder) 21 ppg, 3 rpg, 3.6 apg
Guard: Gibson Walters (Neanderthals) 26 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.9 apg
Forward: Roscoe Anderson (Stark Contrast) 21 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.9 apg and league-leading 20.5 rating
Forward: Sikstas Keburis (Beware of Dogs) 24 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.6 apg
Center:Li Shuo (Resurrected Fury) 7.2 ppg, 14.6 rpg, 6.7 apg, 1.7 sig, 1.8 bpg
Commentary
- I went with Roscoe as MVP over Keburis due to his significant edge in scoring efficiency (50/44/83), superior rating and better team success, but both are great players
- I was reluctant to put Gibson Walters on 1st team given Neanderthals 7-seed finish, but leading the league in scoring while doing it on 52/45/96 efficiency is crazy. You have to reward that
- I was going back and forth between Sikstas and Ade Taylor for the 2nd forward spot, and you can't keep the actual MVP off 1st team so Sikstas got it in the end
Second Team
Guard: William Orourke (Silverbacks) 17 ppg, 5.4 rpm, 4.3 apg
Guard: Guido Pisanechi (Big Gulp) 21 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.8 apg
Forward: Ade Taylor (Visionaries) 21 ppg, 7.2 rpm, 2 apg
Forward: Neil Kimball (Resurrected Fury) 20 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 5 apg
Center: Ruslan Kozin (Splash Gang) 4 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 5.6 apg, 3.8 bpg
Commentary
- The guard options were pretty stacked and had some tough decisions. Ultimately went with Orouke and Guido over the next tier of guys. Guido has comparable scoring stats and a better rating, while Orourke's well-rounded game and elite defense gave him the nod
Third Team
Guard: Dane Cho (Splash Gang) 20 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.9 apg
Guard: Lyle Feaster (Resurrected Fury) 20 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.6 sig
Forward: Jackie Wheatley (Tar Team) 18 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.6 apg
Forward: Marco Giannoni (Splash Gang) 21 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.9 apg
Center: Quentin Laperche (Visionaries) 15 ppg, 12.6 rpg, 4.5 apg
Commentary
- Jackie Wheatley was a tough one to bump to 3rd team. On a 2 seed, good counting stats, and 3rd in the league in rating. Ultimately, felt like Kimball and Taylor had a leg up on him but he had a 2nd-team quality season
- Cho fell to 3rd team primarily because his rating (17.2) was much behind the other guard contenders but that may be explained by playing out of position for a handful of games
Toughest cuts: Tony Meade (Visionaries), Alfonso Conejos (Tar Team)
Hard to keep two USA NT guys off the all-nbba list, but ultimately couldn't find a spot for them. Meade was primarily dinged due to only playing 16 games compared to 18-22 for all the other guards. Conejos gets edged out due to the fewer center position spots and depth at C.
Next cuts: Isiodos Polichronopoulos (Big Gulp), Kostas Theodoratos (Flashover)
Two more league leading shot blockers got edged out due to the crowded C position plus their lack of team success
